25/26 Injury and illness thread

Still yet to see any of the cowards who were out in force last season confirm whether this season's injury crisis is caused by the manager or not.

Posters should not be hounded for daring to express an opinion (short of the obvious exceptions)

I'll refrain from giving my opinion currently as last time I did our injury list exploded. I have my theory on why we're still experiencing an abnormal amount of injuries - I'm seeing a pattern, I'll see if it holds out till summer.

If someone accuses the coach of causing injuries then yeah, I’ll “hound” them

When I see these photos of the pitch and knowing the training ground is meant to mirror the surface, I wonder if the club are looking at if structurally it's actually fit for purpose.

No. Each of the 3 trays that makes up the pitch, weighs more than 3 thousand tons. People talk about the moveable trays as though they are not rigid or not solid enough or something, but they are enormously solid.

If you want to talk about the blend of grass to plastic weave, or the fact they could be TOO solid and firm, then I can agree with you. I still wonder if the stadium and training pitches are too firm, too perfect, and need a bit more give so the pitch gives (rather than your ligaments).

Oh I feel so sorry for him. Out last season for a chunk of time, starting to earn plaudits now he’s back playing - and then an ACL.
Poor sod.
Not a good time to be out on the injury list with a new manager coming in (interim or otherwise).

By the time he comes back, the interim and his successor will likely be gone.

Perisic, Bentancour, Maddison, Dragusin and now Odobert.

Five ACL tears in three years. That's one more than all other PL clubs combined during the same period. No way is this coincidental.

As i said in the Odobert thread, How many ACL's have we had in recent years? getting abit ridiculous now, surely has to be down to the amount of games and the additional training needed for those additional games?

I wonder if anyone has looked at whether they all happened at home?

In that case, you'd imagine there would be many more ACL injuries in other teams as well. What's very suspicious is that we have more of these injuries than the entire rest of the PL.

Random locations so it's not the pitch then.
Three out of five at ours - we have the same surface on our training ground as our pitch, don’t we?

Prolonged exposure to hard playing surfaces is a risk factor for ACL injuries, especially in combination with high intensity playing/training and insufficient recovery time, so I wouldn't dismiss the pitch being s factor.

I don't recall a load of opposition players having serious injuries from our pitch to be fair?

Whatever it is I don't consider it to be a coincidence and a 'Spurs curse' and we should invest a lot of time and money if need be into what the fudging hell is going on with all of this....
