Daniel Levy - Former Chairman

I think that the talk of this being the end game of what was started back when Charrington was first appointed is probably the truth of the matter - having Levy see the club through the summer transfer window before making the big move is probably the most sensible decision with that in mind and anything that did or didn't happen over the summer months wouldn't have factored in to any decision.
It would have made more sense to happen back at the start of the summer , maybe the agreement was to see what happened this summer.

Being reported that it was a complete shock to DL, so something must have happened.

This is complete guess work

But I wonder if the Eze deal was the final straw

High profile transfer failure and it seems that Levy playing silly buggers and moving the goal post played a part of it falling through

Compare how quickly the Xavi deal went through, basically meeting what they wanted straight away , paid the player what they wanted and then done.
Seeing as Eze reportedly contacted Arteta directly I assume that would have happened regardless of how quickly we might have agreed terms.

As i said, it has to be for a reason. No point having that great infrastructure if we are largely going to carry on as we were before

Of course, but we would have 100% stood still where we were, at least the infrastructure keeps us in touch with those we want to be...........better to try and be better than sit still

I'm a bit amazed by the PR/messaging coming out that the "Lewis family" was not happy with on pitch results, literally wtf? they/he was the one handicapping Levy all these years, while Levy became their fall guy.

To me, if they decided to change direction (actually invest) and felt someone else was needed, that's a decision but the messaging is way off point. I hope they understand how much flack Levy took for their failing as ownership.
Telling people what they want to hear. Uncomplicated messaging.
It's all the rage mate.

Our performance (average position) is the best in the club's history, our cup runs are also right up there, and our trophy haul while admittedly short is not hugely off the club average, all done while building a structure to secure our future and competing with the Chelsea & City's (something no previous club leadership had to deal with).

It's a bit like your dad having a go at you for the brick father's day present when he only gives you 50p pocket money.

Chelsea?

Three clubs I make it, 2 of which were powerhouses before the PL and won hasn't won the league since 2004.

That wasn’t the statement from the OP. He said I can’t think of another club who has been more successful in the 25 years since Levy has been in charge. All of those clubs have won the title and have won more trophies in total than us by a distance.

Absolutely. As i say happy with infrastructure upgrades.
But there is no point in having those infrastructure upgrades if you are not going to use them to make the football team better.

So huge gratitude for the infrastructure upgrades but perhaps others should have a go at actually using them to make the team compete at the highest levels

You replied

There’s loads of owners who have been successful without cheating

I merely pointed out that's not the case.

There has been 3, 4 at a push if you include Blackburn who have since gone down to League 1 at one point and almost went bust.

The body isn't even cold and these feks are giving click bait to Sky Sports for their own brands growth.

There is a MASSIVE irony to all of these blue tick podcasters for me, almost hypocrisy.

Similarly to Wenger Out building the AFTV Brand IMO, the Levy Out campaign/brand has done the same for these guys. But in the same way that without Wengers success there would be nothing to comment on, the same IMO applies to Levy, in the fact that had we, for the last 25 years had Sugar, running the club as he was (thats not a dig BTW) then the Podcast scene for Spurs would look massively different, there would be no narratives of CL final to frustration, to multiple finals to the same, to emergency podcasts and the like. In that I am not saying they should thank him but to the subject the only podcaster I know of a middle of the road club is the guy at Palace and his success in part has grown as their profile has also, so my point is, without Levy growing the brand and making progression in the PL and CL, these blokes wouldn't have anywhere near the success and ironically the revenue they have now.

The Hypocrisy for me comes in that these guys and girls are ultra protective of their YT/Insta/Twitter brands, its everything to them and so is............the commercial side, everything they say they hated about Levy and the club, they have used the club to create their own level of commercial and money off the back of the club. For me, they are doing exactly what they despise in their own world.

For many its their fulltime job now, good luck to them, but I don't think they would be having full time jobs as YT'ers in their numbers if it was not for the clubs journey

Monetising your status as a fan...........how very Enic

That outlier hits hard!
Why is there a green and yellow trend separately for those time periods?
Because, statistically speaking, Levy's tenure can be described as a significant improvement over the noughties from a mean of 12th position at its beginning of the decade to 6th at its end and then a reasonably sustained plateau of 4 - 5th in the subsequent decade and a half, excluding last year's outlier.

Honestly it’s a job, he did it to his best. Got paid very very well and that’s it.
But it’s not just a job, he’s an owner, albeit a minority (but far from insignificant) shareholder and a friend of Lewis and family.
That’s why I find it hard to believe. I assume he knew the plans but maybe had the rug pulled from under him with it happening so suddenly.

If the transfer window tells us anything it’s not to believe the nonsense the press write.
