Lloris has a pretty high stock, but knows his days at Lyon are done - maybe he is just playing the waiting game and will choose us last minute if no one else bigger comes in for him.

his reputation is that he could play for pretty much anyone - the question is, does anyone massive need him?

Exactly, for me, it's just too good an opportunity to pass up on.

Like Hughes explained when signing Cesar, when the oppo comes up for a player of that quality, you just have to take it.

Agreed, I know nowt about Lloris but if everyone in France loves the guy, he must be good. Just get him in and MOVE ON WE ONLY HAVE A FEW HOURS LEFT TO GET A STRIKER.

For a keeper of that calibre, if we are getting him for the ten million touted, couldn't we just bung him a couple of mill to offset the lower wage?

Yes I have, its a piece of tinkle to scan through and pick out the details.

Do you recall the original title of this thread? Rumuor/ITK/all that nonsense DISCUSSION thread. Yet as soon as discussion occurs moaning mirtles come in and tell people to go elsewhere - all because it isnt 100% convenient for them.

As I have said (countless times now) it seems what some want is a pure Rumour thread, nothing else.

In the spirit of not merging threads, and giving people what they want how about (possibly a bit radical, so stay with me) we set up another thread for UPDATES ONLY and leave this DISCUSSION thread unaltered?

That way, everyone gets what they want.

So based on what Pedro Pinto CNN said; are all the chairmen in the Europe going to the UEFA Cup draw today or what... I don't know owt about it but often they are all sat looking smug or disappointed... seems like strange timing so near to the end of the window.

Good idea though, every year just get every chairman into one room and do speed dating for players.

Means stay at Lyon or come here, but would not surprise me if another club came in for him. Just hope our French players can convince him this is the club to be at!

I guess this is why we're looking at Carvalho. A lot of of you will say Dawson, but AVB obviously doesn't rate him, at least not enough to be a regular starter.
