Watch closely. The players always use the 18 yard line as a guide. I've watched it again and again this season. The focus is always offside and we keep getting undone. It is very poor management from Ange. Players are too good at this level to fall for that. Every manager is telling their players to make the runs from just outside the 18 yard line and then they know they are onside.
These are the reasons why Ange is struggling at this high level of the game. I bet it worked in his previous leagues.

We're just quite a dull team to watch. No players that you can't wait to see do their thing, it's quite sad when you think about it.

My own eyes. I had an instinct something wasn't quite working so I kept watching it. We either marginally get teams offside (and it looks great) or we see these types of melt downs where we're trying to hold the line and they penetrate it. The very same thing happened on 42 mins when Danso got the clout in the face. They were all using the 18 yard line again.
The problem is that it is an unnatural act to some of our players. They naturally like to mark, they like to pivot and they like to go with runners. That stuff has to stop if you are religiously holding a line.
I'd rather we kept the high defence and play the offside where we're close to the half way line. When we're back further, we should defend properly.
We've played the 3rd place team in Germany, they were brick. United just beat the 4th best team in Spain 3 nil away from home - there's no quality on the continent in comparison to the PL outside of a handful of CL teams

Part of that has to lay on the blame of Ange. Odobert is an exciting player, we don't use him to his abilities.
Moore has been dropped. GHod knows why. This is a game crying out for him.
But yeh other than that we don't have much flair. Bergvall is obviously decent but injured
The rest are just meh players.
I looked at Crystal palace last week in the FA cup and I'd take the majority of their 11 Vs our 11 if not all. I would easily take their manager too.
