Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

Not the most glamourous player we've had but did a job and did it without a fuss. Thank you for your service.

I wonder who the spacegoat baton will be passed to next.
Oh that role has been groomed for some time to Richi, with Werner bought in for back up.

As for Hojberg, top pro and a good player who was always fit and available. An ever present for Conte and Mourinho who know a thing or two about CMs, MOTM against England coming up against the 'world class' Declan Rice, wanted by Atletico Madrid but priced out of a move - but yeah of course, all he does is point and shout. You don't have to think he's prime Makele, but some of the comments made here during his career are nothing short of embarrassing ....

Werner

I liked Hojbjerg's attitude, but i always felt he was the archetypal mourinho player for an archetypal mourinho system, so i never enjoyed him being anywhere near the side.

I liked Hojbjerg a lot, which says something because I wasn't that impressed with his play at Soufampton. I bet the coaches did too. Never looked like a player who suffered slackers or fools lightly and was probably a hard ass at training. For all the demands of Spurs fans for stylish, silky football, we need a bit of a prick out there as well and he played that role well.

Not sure we played a system that drew out the best of his attacking skills. Denmark have played him in a more offensive role and he never failed to impress - well, me at least - with his passing, movement and willingness to shoot in international play. I wish him well in his next chapter.

Totally agree. Although I like our new transfer policy, one thing that strikes me, is that all the recent signings, all seem a bit too nice! I think every team needs a couple of "nasty" players to keep up the intensity, and show the opposition that you don't fudge with us.
Can't see many in the squad now filling that role.

Romero and Richi have that bite, after that I'm struggling a bit....

I think he was the kind of player we needed at the time we signed them then unfortunately for him we kind of outgrew him, quite simply to Palacios in that regard. I know this is not how it works but given the choice I would have kept him and sold Skipp.
