Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

Ok so you didn't even read/watch the original thing I posted

Yes then you started going on about klopps joke being disrespectful. It was a joke. That he wouldn't make about the euros because they are not played in the middle of the season.

Why am I not allowed to find a "joke" disrespectful? My country of birth and the country I live in are both competing and it's a hugely important competition for both. Not to mention the country of our club's captain. Oh and the trophy that properly launched our head coach's career.

If it was just Klopp who had this attitude, sure. But it's not. It's prevalent among people in Europe who don't want to acknowledge football exists elsewhere, on different timescales. It's why literally no one but me fancied Ange before he came in.

(EDIT: I probably went a bit too hard here - but there was sentiment (and still is) that Ange wasn't good enough for Spurs because he was an Aussie who'd managed in Aus, Japan and Scotland).

Oh and I don't think it was a joke from Klopp. If FIFA didn't protect AFCON and the Asian Cup, I'd bet good money he would prohibit his players from going.

Edit: dumb brick like this wind me up too

We moan about international breaks for england aswell.

As for literally nobody but you fancying ange? There were a few on here who were supportive of his appointment.

Oh and i'll be out there for the asian cup by the way. I fly out on the 21st.

Ange tells a good story about his first coaching job at age 12 on this podcast. Starts around 16:27. The whole thing is worth a listen, Santo Cilauro is an Australian comedy legend and it's a good relaxed chat about his upbringing. And a funny story about the great Englishman who played for Real Madrid, Stan Ding.

We heard from conte, asking why it was always the manager, not anyone else?

This season isn't so bad. 1 game a week. Means 2 press conferences. 2 games a week though is 4.

You can see ange getting the needle. It doesn't have to be that way. It's your opinion that this is what he wants.

ANYTHING we heard from clame should now be considered ‘opposite day’ of what is appropriate.

Yet the last 2 he has got the needle.

If you look at him the last two conferences, I’d say he’s a little under the weather. Add stress and no family around him during the holidays and I’d be crispy to stupid comments from ignorant reporters too!

Agree I dont care about AFCON but most of the players in it have great national pride, whether you agree or not it's a big thing for them and saying you hope their dreams fail is poor man management, these thought should be kept to yourself, but he cant stop looking to be the story.

It's one of those "it's OK to think it, just don't say it" situations. Especially for a manager at his level.

Can’t believe I’ve sticking up for that clam, but if more managers were honest about it we might actually get this nonsense sorted.

It’s been going on for too long.
