ENIC

Is there another industry (particularly multi billion pound) where someone who is unequipped for a particular element of the business gets to make so many decisions for that element? Why is Levy anywhere near the football strategy? And gets to remain in that position despite so many failures?

3 months since I wrote this. Levy received plenty of support in my replies.

I wonder how people are feeling now….

What concrete assets?
Bricks and Mortar...1.8bn and 1.3bn listed on two separate companies which will be the Stadium, Training Ground and Land owned...

Like I say, debt is also there so would be deducted but then there is future earnings and the value of buying a brand.

Ultimately anyway someone will have to pay over 3bn regardless of opinions

I didn’t say he was in charge, just too close. Your thoughts? I can’t pinpoint a good football decision we’ve made in the last 5 years.
I can
We kept Kane
That was a brilliant decision
We have also brought some decent players (that’s the DOF role)
Paratici was a good appointment
Conte was too
Shame it went full conte too quickly

we also now have a proper structure in place which at mean better youth coming though

Spurs are privately owned I don’t know how you work out £3billion - we have a massive debt and are committed to more expensive property development.

Yeah, as much as I don’t like Conte and hate how it finished, fans and pundits have been talking about him as if he was an unmitigated disaster. He wasn’t. He got us top 4 after inheriting an absolute brickshow. Not many other managers could have done that.

He wasn’t and isn’t a bad manager
He is a bad fit for us
But if we hadn’t got him I’m not sure what or who we would have got

Public accounts show how much is listed as assets and as I say they show via multiple companies

We owe 900m over 30 years, we turnover 450m a year, the income potential makes the clubs value high

The real estate value of the company is HUGE

It was an excellent side, but old and could only last half the season. All the eggs were in the league cup basket to qualify for Europe then the promise of additional funds being made available. Unfortunately we were a Les Ferdinand shocker away from lifting the trophy and the rest is history, team was dead on its feet for the last few months of the season and Hoddle couldn’t turn it around. Also didn’t help that Teddy was up till gone midnight playing cards with his cronies in the team the night before the game. I was in the same hotel so know that for a fact.

no doubt Enic will be blamed for this cup final defeat as well?!:D

Poyet hit the bar after a sumptuous move with the score at 1-1…

Getting the results he did compared to what we’ve seen since too.

You didn’t just class keeping Kane as a good footballing decision…..a blind cat could have called that.

The youth stuff means nothing for the first team (at least for now).

Paratici has had to walk and Conte has been replaced by his boot boy. Ultimately - decisions are proven good or bad based on outcomes.

My opinion, the short term glam manager hunt started the rot. I remember how I felt the day Jose came in and it hasn’t really changed.

Yes, Conte got a bounce going last season, but he had an injury free, European-less team to work with for one game a week. That’s the sum of our success since Poch left.

Lots of people would have taken the money for kane
I didn’t want Poch to go
I was gutted
It was a really horrible moment for me having spent a fortune following this club since I was 4
But I get why he made the call
Clubs make mistakes
Fans then create their own versions of things depending on their views
I’d love new, richer owners
It’s the only way very very soon any team will be able to do anything on this league and even more so if united get brought out and have their debt cleared
But I can’t see anyone buying us due to the valuations

It's a stupid question. Most industries if that business had just had record turnover and were set to get even higher in their next set of statements would be delighted. Levy hired a dof who hired a coach they were supposed to handle football matters. We are roughly where we expect to be. Hewlet packard wouldn't sack their ceo for not outperforming apple.

If you have £4bn or so then he can probably be persuaded

Exactly, I really wonder about people some fudging days ..

I don't like Levy, he has got to go .. ok? how/why/what can force it?

Saudi Sportswashing Machine (to rub salt into the wound) didn't like Ashley for what? a decade plus? they never got him to leave, money did ..

The business stuff I have no argument against.

The football stuff I tend to disagree. We’re certainly not “roughly where I expect to be” - not for the cost of my season ticket.

And it might be acceptable to sit below Apple, but probably not Amstrad and Amiga which is a few games away.
