Fabio Paratici - Consultant

Im sure City would sue us if we did that. The gardening leave is a legal condition of his resignation from them
Once he's not getting paid then he's not working. Levy and him can have conversations, very hard to prove anything and I doubt City would care.

Our DoF model has never really worked has it? One of the benefits has always been touted as “it’ll ensure continuity as the DoF will set the vision and will be in place long term whereas coaches will come and go.”

Arnesen went to Chelsea within a year
Comolli was gone within 2 after the Ramos experiment
Baldini spunked the Bale money on dross and was gone within a couple of years
Paratici looks like he’s as bent as Redknapp and is also gone within a couple of years

To be fair, on signings particularly, Arnesen and Paratici did well.
It's when we've made our best signings

Yeah, that I can agree with. Just mean from the point of view of having someone stay in the position for a good number of years. Our DoFs have had the same shelf life as our managers.
I think we need someone with a strong connection to the club in the position. Someone who defines and advocates the identity of THFC. Yes that might mean an element of symbolism in the role and obviously would require a strong scouting network underneath but we need that anyway. I don’t think there’s any point in changing DoFs every couple of years.

Saw a couple of mentions of munn. He is not a dof.

Whether we get another dof is a different question. Hope so. Guy from benfica maybe?

Hence the Munn role over the DoF

Hopefully in that model, there is a consistent vision and a change in one doesn't reset the whole process.

Club Statement - Fabio Paratici
Fri 21 April 2023, 08:10|Tottenham Hotspur

Yesterday - 20 April 2023 - Fabio Paratici was unsuccessful with an appeal against his Italian Football Federation (FIGC) ban on certain football related activities.

FIFA ruled to extend the ban worldwide and, whilst there continues to be a dispute as to the scope and extent of the ban, the current worldwide ban prevents Fabio from fulfilling his duties as our Managing Director of Football. Fabio has consequently taken the decision to resign from his position at the Club with immediate effect to focus on his legal position in respect of the FIGC and FIFA rulings.

Daniel Levy, Chairman: “This has been a stressful time for Fabio and his family. We wanted to ensure that we allowed for due process to be followed. Fabio is a man who lives and breathes football - we wish him well.

“As outlined in our year end results, we started several months ago to restructure our football operations and last week announced the appointment of Scott Munn as Chief Football Officer to head up all the departments. We shall continue to strengthen our football functions over the coming months.”

Good to finally have a decision made on it, can get on with things.

wish him all the best, thought he made some really good signings and even the ones that haven’t worked out so far (Perisic) you could see the logic behind.
