Jose Mourinho - SACKED

One of the big criticisms I've seen levelled at Jose in the past is that he's not a good coach, he just buys great players and puts them in a system that works.

Hugo, Aurier, Dier, Ndombele, Kane and possibly Son look like much better players under him.

Yep i have heard that before as well, it was gonads then and its gonads now. You would have to be a blind man not to see how he has reshaped our team without throwing a lot of money at it.

The improvement in our defending is really impressive.

In a season where most teams struggle defensively after a shorter preseason and with the busy fixture list. At times two new full backs, one more used to playing as a wing back and one new to the league. New deep midfielder. Centre backs that have all fallen into either the not good enough anymore, not good enough yet or simply not good enough by the estimation of many. Without spending huge on any single player, yeah Reguilon cost a bit, but significantly less than top level fullbacks.

With that he's made us solid and hard to beat against Emirates Marketing Project and Chelsea.

I think just how impressive that is gets understated because Mourinho "always" does that, but still.

Just listened to Jose talking about Marine and the respect he has for their players. Maybe he's just saying what sounds good -but he's saying exactly the right thing, he has mellowed with time... as confident as ever but not so arrogant.

I think he has mellowed, but I know for a fact that a fair few of us have as well, as we sit top of the league.

"For us, the result was better than the performance, the second half better than the first, some players individually had very good performances, but some had very poor performances."

In the very poor camp - Hart, Doherty, Sanchez (capt), GLC, Bale, Moura

Davies was capt?

I could have put this in several threads but decided upon this one...

As others have said, it was encouraging to watch the Amazon documentary and see that Jose noticed the same things about players that we do. At times we have all wondered if managaers can see the obvious..

So from last night it appears that Jose has made decisions about certain players..

For Dele and Winks not to start makes it looks like their days at Spurs could be numbered..

He put Rodon in against Chelscum ahead of Sanchez and his performance last night will probably hasten his departure.

I persaonally think that there are still a few there who are not of sufficient quality....

We all love Lucas Moura for his general attitude, energy levels and those 3 goals in Amsterdam but his second touch is usually 6 feet away from his first and the ball is lost... Too often he fails to deliver with the final ball....

Bergwyn again just doesnt produce enough.. He looks ponderous on the ball and at times just anxious... He even looks worried standing for the picture in the team line up. Both him and Moura provide running which is why Jose likes them at this stage but to progress to the next level we need better players.

Doherty is struggling and may be suffering from the expectation of going up a level in club stature... Sigurdsson looked great at Swansea but then struggled with us and at the moment i would put Doherty in that category... But he has made Aurier concentrate more so that is good..

I would like two players in January who i think would take us to the next level... Skrinniar from Inter ( although ive ever seen him play but the reports seem good ) and someone who will probably promote more debate... He is a current premier league player who score goals, creates, runs at players, causes danger and without him his team are rubbish.. Zaha from Palace would improve us immediately and therefore increase our chances of winning the title...

Big game on sunday and COYS...

He was diabolical but Hart was as bad given he cost us 2-3 goals. And while I'm a massive GLC fan, that was as bad a performance as I've ever seen from him.

Agreed. Very few had acceptable games, let alone good games

Most concerning though is that Son, Ndombele and Hojbjerg all played at least an hour last night and we need them on their game on Sunday. Son and PEH in particular need to have a break at some point

Undefeated since Everton now right? Not sure we'll lose too many if we defend like we have the last few weeks.

There will be losses. You cant just let teams pump crosses in and assume packing the box will always work. I'm not complaining, the current defending and clean sheets is pretty satisfying but I'm sure at some point a side will get luckier than Arse today (or have better poachers)
