Coronavirus

Wow, this data gets old fast! In that chart from 4 days ago, Norway was listed with 177 and 0 deaths. Now the numbers are 806 and 1 dead.

Does the 'number infected' figures reflect a nation's readiness and ability to test, more than provide a true picture of how widespread the virus is?

It is quite possible that the high 3% mortality rate that was being talked about is way way off the mark, and with the virus prevalent in the population, the true mortality rate is well under 1% close to normal flu figures, with most people only getting mild symptoms. Let's hope so.

No, it's more a reflection on which countries people travel to and from. Most cases of corona in Norway are people who have been in Italy and Austria on vacation. And Italy is a very popular destination for people from all over the world.

What's the turnaround time for a test result and can the likes of prem players get a faster service or does all testing lead to the same labs?

Money is the only reason they haven't suspended the league yet.

“science says it’s fine...”

aka Sky & PL have been nagging us they don’t want to lose revenue.

Unbelievable it still hasn’t been cancelled tbh

Leicester players not confirmed that’s why. They just had mild symptoms of colds so have been removed as a precaution. Arteta definitely has it following a test.

Thanks. Didn’t realise it was suspected, hopefully they are ok.

But then for Arteta and Hudson-Odoi to have it makes me think it’s way more widespread than 500 cases

The Chief Medical Officer said yesterday that he thinks there are 10,000 people currently infected in the UK. With a 14 day incubation period, that might be an underestimate.
