Next Spurs Manager

fair point, although there is always a “United tax” when they buy someone

And a clueless chairman. I think that we'd be a real test for Mourinho, he hasn't been at a club where he can't buy success since the beginning of his career.

Also fair, he’s got to want to kill that angle of criticism though

This is why I would be very unsure of his appointment. He would need to understand what he is letting himself in for, we aren't Chelsea or Emirates Marketing Project, Liverpool or even Arsenal who can all pay their players significantly more than we do. If he gets the job he has to accept those limitations, I'm not sure that he can in the medium term no matter what he says in an interview.

That's what excites me about his possible appointment. I think it would be the (re)making of him. Someone who's been at the top will refuse to except a mentality of being an also ran. Reminds me of.the conversation between Lamela and Rose, with Rose not thinking we were serious contenders for the title.

If it doesn't work quickly, he'll start complaining about it publicly. The second half of his tenures are always about blaming others and protecting his reputation.
