OMT: Spurs v West Ham. Rumbelows Cup, Westfield Arena, Weds 19:45

Thought we would be getting City away, but we all knew it would be tough away draw, while Chelsea and Arsenal would be drawn at home

Really shows our strength in depth, that. Still don't understand where all the new signings were supposed to fit in if we had made them considering who we already have.

Foyth was excellent. I'd like to think he's played himself in to the type of contention that means he would be trusted in a League game if there were injuries to the first choices, rather than moving Dier back. He looked like he had bulked out a bit, he looked authoritative, made the right decisions when needing to make the tackle and looked really smooth on the ball. He was more timid last season when he got his chances but this time around, away in a midweek London derby, he looked like he really belonged. Really pleased for him.

Then I thought there was a whole group of players that played ok, did some good and did some bad, but played their role well. Winks probably also deserves special mention too, and Sanchez for playing 2 games in 3 days.

KWP and Gazza, they looked a bit too indecisive to me. Gazza had this tendency to dally between coming off his line and rowing back, and didn't inspire confidence. KWP had a big guy in Antonio facing him and that is a unique challenge that isn't easy, but I don't think he will feel entirely comfortable that he took his chance.

Wanyama though...ooof. It's really sad to see. Was mentioned on the previous page but he just seems to be so off. He either holds the ball too long, makes the wrong decision, doesn't react quickly enough to anything that is happening. Hopefully he is just getting minutes into him but he really looks a step behind everyone else and it's not so obvious he's going to get the opportunities for more minutes. I'd almost be tempted to have Sissoko take Wanyama's spot officially in that deeper 2 position in midfield if Dier is out.

In tonight's game Arse managed 2 shots on target and got 2 goals.
They went down to 10 men after an hour, but hey, who the frig are Blackpool?

Be different for us though. They'll pick a better team, atmosphere will be 100x better than for a game v Blackpool. They will want this.

Arsenal left out a lot of players tonight, as did we. Should be a somewhat even game between our second strings.

Wonder whether Poch will play a much stronger 11 given that a semi final place is at stake (setting aside the competition)

Difficult to know how a manager who is new to this country will view this competition. The second cups in a lot of countries isnt taken seriously so he might still play a weakened team

Im sure in these sorts of instances both managers will come to an understanding as to what strength side the other will play agead of the game

Jesus fcuk December is a mad month for football for us.

Kind of would have preferred not to have gone through then to play yet another match in December, that is just a week before xmas when we have 2 league games.

Anyone know when the draw for the next round of the F.A. cup is, that is usually first week in January, will be down to the bare bones by then.

Any chance Rose and Vertonghen will be fit for the game v the goons? aurier--foyth---vert---rose would be a decent back 4 to put out for that game

That week we play Burnley Saturday
Arse wednesday (as they play Sunday)
And then Sunday late vs Everton

Nice prep for Christmas

They’re also not as good as results suggest. They’re better than last season but you’d have expected them to win the games they’ve won and yet they struggled in many of them.
Yes whereas we steamroll every team we are expected to beat....
