FA Cup Semi Final OMT ***Tottenham Hotspur FC v Manchester United***

fudging clams. We bottle it every fudging time! Every time we get to a big match we play like we don’t give a brick. We play so slowly, like we don’t even know the significance of the match we are playing. We just give up. Bunch of bottling tossers!!!

Yep. If you toss a coin 100 times, you will get runs of heads and tails. It happens. That's why you should always priorise the league over cups, if you are half way decent. Still gutted though.

Agreed.
Sadly, and I love the man, but from where I was Poch got it wrong today with the keeper and subs timing. He knows more than me so there must be reasons, but this was a day for three at the back and Lloris. If we were three at the back we’d have been three up before they woke up. Sadly, this was also further proof that Moose is cooked.
Now we have to fight and show real balls to win our remaining four. That top 4 spot was always the most important thing this season...but make no mistake, like Milo I am gutted, by result and second-half performance!

Same sound bites that we always hear after a defeat

It’s a bit more than that. He’s taking responsibility and acknowledging that the defeat is on him, the manager and the other players.

Poch is regurgitating soundbites by saying how tough it is to win a trophy and pretty much accepting the defeat.

I think it’s more a case of bottling it today rather than not giving a brick.

You could see some heavy touches which allowed them crucial time to get behind the ball and you could sense that we never believed we were getting back into it when they went ahead.

Very, very poor mentality today.

I thought a back 4 was right and not going to change that view just because we lost. And I hope that others don't either.

I would have played Lloris, as would others...of course its unknown how Lloris would have played and what the score would have been with him between the sticks.

I really hope the Independent's story about having £120m to spend (on top of sales) is true as its increasingly feeling like hanging on players like Eriksen will be tough without some statement of intent

I don't think that you can switch formation going into a game like this. Our problem today was that Dembele and Kane were off form. Better performances from them and every other player has twice as many options.

If we gave a brick, there would be a higher tempo. There would be more urgency in trying to get the ball back but no. We decided we would try a spot of walking football which is great except it wasn’t the sport that we should have been playing! I think we need faster full backs for one. Plus full backs willing to play first time crosses.

the trouble with Poch is he thinks his way of playing and his team spirit is all import, but Jose knows the only important think is to win the big games no matter how
Jose would have played a player he didn't like if it would won but Poch won't play Toby as he wants more money

I don’t buy that. The players care. If the nerves get at you, it affects your touch and can slow you down. Then any belief drains away.

Our players care. They just didn’t have the bottle to win today. And that’s very, very disappointing.

Yes, but Mourinho has a deeper squad which gives him more variation. We dont have enough depth to give Poch that much variation in how we play

If they were nervous, how come we started so well?

I think City did a number on us and now we can't play football well anymore. Outside of that, I think that Lloris may have saved the second goal. It seemed weird that he wasn't picked, especially with the number of crosses we were going to face and how fond Vorm is of sticking to his line.

I know it sounds quite kneejerk, but I think Poch may need to look around at what the top teams are doing and change things. This is probably something to expand on elsewhere, so that's all I'll post here.

I hope people don’t hold Dembele responsible. It was naive to come inside toward danger rather then go outside and maybe win a throw, but the guy walks past players 10 times per game and without that we wouldn’t score the goals we do (I know he doesn’t always assist or score but he takes players out of of the game to the benefit of others.

Kane must be playing through injury. He’s just not showing for the ball like he was pre injury. He wants the golden boot but he has to hold his hands up if he’s not 100%.

I said to my pal pre-game that I would have played Lloris. If you really want to win things you have to play your best available team. Does Poch give any value to other players such as Kane wanting to win things. Let’s me honest, the 2nd goal was in the middle of the goal.

Now I come to the main issue. What is our record in ‘must win’ games? I mean actual must win games, not league games against United or Arse, but games with no 2nd chances. It’s getting a little worrying that we just can’t manage these big games. When and how will this change?

Plan B - we don’t actually have a plan B do we.

Christ we are bunch of sad buggers on here
Well...I thought we would lose and we did. If we keep out top 4 place then Poch's job is safe and rightly so. But is we lose it to Chelsea, then I say we should beg Ancelotti to manage us. Poch is good, but limited: we needed our best 11 today, not our best 9.

Kane must be playing through injury. He’s just not showing for the ball like he was pre injury. He wants the golden boot but he has to hold his hands up if he’s not 400%.

If Kane is insisting he plays despite not being fit, he’s a clam. If Poch is picking him under those circumstances, he’s also a clam.

That said, I’m just venting. I don’t believe either to be true.
