Champions League 2017/18

It's safe to say they are improving. I like the two fullback s and Gomez looks decent as well. Still need a quality keeper though.

Trent Arnold was having a shakey time (understandable due to heis age) before the City games, he had Sane covered for both which was very impressive but he will be inconsistent (ditto Gomez).

It would be refreshing to avoid any of the teams from the past ten CL finals this year: Real Madrid (3), Manure (3), Bayern (3), Barca (3), Chelski (2), Juve (2), Athletic Madrid (2), Inter and Dortmund.

Preferably Roma - Sevilla.

Real are poor this season. Dippers would have too much power and pace. Look what we did to them

Real now look the real deal to me and clear favourites

Pool could easily win it the way their playing but they could also get knocked out by a decent side playing the right way

Bayern are in cruise control and have won their league already

Roma...fudge knows how they have done it but fair play

Liverpool in the semis kind of goes to show that the CL is there to be won and we don't just have to treat it as a competition we're happy to make the numbers up in, but one that we can realistically aim to compete for
I think we were taking it seriously this year and I always thought we were in with an outside chance, no matter who we got drawn against. We're actually pretty good.

Im not sure about their defense - we've missed Toby for most of the season (and are are missing 3 of last seasons first choice defense too) and yet have conceded 8 fewer than them - is their defense really that good? Because if it is ours must be incredible, even without TA
It has definitely improved a lot since Virgil joined. He's even made Lovren look like a decent CB. And their fullbacks aren't too shabby either. Not pulling up trees, but definitely serviceable.

Definitely- more talking about from the fans perspective, we should be looking at Liverpool thinking there's no reason why we cant do better than what they're doing this season in the coming years - currently i think if you're a top side in the Prem that puts you in with a good shot at the CL

Here's a question that I have that I posted in another thread that no one seems to be looking at right now:

How is it that Lucas could play in our CL games, even though he was in the match squad for PSG (but never got on the pitch), but Obamayang is cup tied, even though Dortmund hadn't even played a single game in EL?

Perhaps you actually have to play, rather than sit on the bench?

That's exactly the point. Dortmund didn't play a single game in the EL, yet because they qualified for it all their players became cup tied for EL games. On the other hand, PSG played CL games and Lucas was on the bench for a couple of them, yet because he didn't play he is not cup tied. Different rules for EL and CL?
