Lloris - 7 another clean sheet, nothing much to do.

Vertonghen - 7.5 real quality, superb going forward.
Caulker - 6.5 steady, got bullied a few times by Jones.
Dawson - 6.5 (see Caulker), I wish he play the easy ball sometimes.
Walker - 6 average.

Dembele - 7 tried hard, tried to drive the team forward.
Sandro - 8 MotM, great saving tackle, absolute beast.

Lennon - 6 average, huffed and puffed.
Adebayor - 6 average, nothing to feed off, seemed to lack discipline.
Bale - 6 average, seemed to lack drive and purpose.

Defoe - 6 average, nothing to feed off, not much guile.

Subs:

Sigurdsson - 7 had our only chance of note, should have been on sooner.
Parker N/A

AVB - 8 did as much as he could
 
Lloris 6 - one decent save, a couple of dodgy moments, not too impressed with his distribution
Walker 6 - okay defensively but back to his usual indecisive self going forward
Dawson 7 - did okay
Caulker 7 - see Dawson
Vertonghen 8 - our best player today
Lennon 6 - going through a lean spell; should have been replaced by Townsend after 60 mins
Sandro 6 - ought to be worried about Parker's return to fitness
Dembele 7 - decent
Bale 7 - mixed bag
Adebayor 5 - looked like he couldn't be arsed - until the 89th minute when he suddenly went crazy
Defoe 6 - left his shooting boots behind

Subs
Siggy 7 - header from Sandro's cross deserved better luck
Parker 6 - okay
 
Lloris - 7.5 decent distribution looked safe apart from one moment of miscommunication with Caulker
Vertonghen - 8 top drawer (or as some people on here would say top draw ;) )
Caulker - 6.5 Knocked off the ball by Jones repeatedly in the first half but a few decent forays forward in the second
Dawson - 7.5 Solid, his passing was pretty restrained
Walker - 6 Did well defensively but attacks frequently broke down on the right side when he stalled on the ball
Dembele - 7.5 Combined well with Bale and Vertonghen
Sandro - 7 Average Sandro, we needed him to be cleverer today on the ball
Lennon - 6.5 Played well once he got into the game on the left, he really suffered by laying it off to Sandro and Walker and never getting it back
Bale - 7.5 Most dangerous player as usual, managed to send 18 crosses in, not his fault it was pretty much a waste as they were cleared time and again
Adebayor - 6.5 Pretty poor
Defoe - 6.5 Didnt even get a shot on target

Sigurdsson - 8 Absolutely cracking when he came on. Has the best off the ball movement of anyone in our squad.
 
You're very kind, no chance or nearly no chance at home to stoke who were awful.

Special mention for Shawcross who was fantastic.

Lennon 4 Nothing, yet again

Bale 5 Not sharp today, but at least tries his luck and shoots at goal to lift the crowd and the team

Verts 7.5 This guy is so classy

Lennon 6 been unhappy with him lately but im not sure if it is down to him or the manager making him play this way.
Sandro 7 awesome as always but today we needed more creativity he is a 5 star player but the wrong sort for today, that said he did not like stoke get on top so he did his job perfectly.
Dembele 6.5 Still trying to get match fitness i think.
Bale 7 Our biggest threat but not a top performance from him today.

Adebayor 5.5 does not seem to have the form of last year and him and defoe are not a partnership yet.
Defoe 5.5 Poor shooting today, gave effort as always but so quick to shoot when often the is better option.

Siggy 7 looked very bright when he came on and i would find a way to start him next match.

AVB 7 don't blame him to much for today stoke are an evil disgusting dirty team who do not try to play what i call football.

Would actually look to start dempsey in the next match and play bale off a striker. Dempsey playing on the left and giving bale a free role.

This - apart from Bale 7. Our only attacking threat. Put in many crosses first half (Ade should have scored from one right on his head). Nullified somewhat by his move to the right in the second half. Maybe could have done better with Lennon's one decent cross.
 
Lloris 6 - Made a good save in the first half, but other than that poor distribution
Walker 5,5 - Thought he was finding his form, but made too many bad decisions.
Dawson 6,5 - Defensively solid, but looked very shakey when in posession
Caulker 6,5 - Same as Dawson
Vertonghen 8,5 - MOM performance, showed real determination and was very good going forward. Future captain material IMO.
Lennon 6,5 - A passenger in the first half, but made some good challenges when switched to left side.
Sandro 6 - Misplaced too many easy passes.
Dembele 8 - Its' such a joy to watch him play in that role, as he wins the ball back so easy and can keep posession when put under pressure.
Bale 6,5 - Opposite of Lennon. Was our main threat in the first half but faded in second half, when he was switched to the right.
Adebayor 6 - Drifted in and out of the game
Defoe 6 - Typical Defoe performance. Can score out of nothing but when he doesn't score you wonder what he offers.

Sigurdsson 7 - Have been very critical of his performances so far, but he has started to offer something when he has been brought on. Should perhaps start in attacking midfield against Villa at the dispense of Defoe/Ade.

AVB 6,5 - Picked the right lineup IMO, but was left with few options form the bench.

Vertonghen 8 schooled by Ajax = superb footballer

Lennon 6 never went at his man.............came inside and into traffic far too much
Sandro 6.5 not as much defensive work to do today, we needed other things from him and he showed that he is not the complete player (yet)
Dembele 7 Good, but when the game is tight can he not try a few of his strolling past player runs that he did at fulham
Bale 6 Looked liked he'd been of for 3 weeks, still a threat but when he starts fiddling with his body you may as well bring him off.

Defoe 6 shoot on sight.....no bullseye today
Ade 5.5 mmm not sure where Ade is at, at the mo.......wonder what's goin on in his head? Are either of our forwards that great for the camped in their halve type of game?

Siggy 6.5 Maybe in hindsight Siggy should have started today.

Finally - I've seen Bale enough times and to a lesser extent Vertonghen enough times to know that they are more than capable of crossing the ball in that place that is f*cking hard for a defender and f*cking hard for a goalkeeper to defend, and f*cking easy for an attacker to score......right down that f*cking corridor. The difference is players like Defoe/Ade/Lennon have seen it a f*cking million times and still look f*cking surprised when it happens. Get the f*ck in there, it's on a f*cking plate, you wont score a f*cking easier goal. Grrrrrr (copyright of DFS)

Walker - 5 - Doesn't do much does he?
Dawson - 6.5 - Good to see him back in the team
Caulker - 6.5 - Needs to hit the weights
Vertonghen - 8 - Different class, it's a shame we don't have a team blessed with his one touch control and movement.

Lennon - 6 - Sort it out
Sandro - 7 - Not his best performance but hey, it's Stoke and we didn't lose.
Dembele - 7 - His usual self, needs to add more in the final third.
Bale - 6 - I love him as much as you lot but he's so overrated its untrue. WIN US THESE GAMES WORLD CLASS MAN!

Defoe - 5.5 - Nothing.
Adebayor - 5.5 - Nothing.
 
game of two halves again - we looked much better in the second but i'm going put it down to stoke's hard work and good organization that nullified us in the first; troubling to see though that as they tired in the second we couldn't force a goal.

Lloris - 7 fearless and did well to get to a few high balls. distribution was nervy in the first half though. defence so much more confident with his speed off the line
Vertonghen - 8 he is really good as a LB back up...
Caulker - 7 can't believe he is still so young... so composed and very good with the ball
Dawson - 8 strong, inspiring and still very good despite being out for so long. So glad to see him in this game; deserves to start ahead of gallas.
Walker - 7 good performance in both defence in attack, 7 because he was patiently trying to involve others to keep the ball in stokes half
Dembele - 7 very good performance but i expected more from him going forwards and into the box...faded badly towards the end
Sandro - 7 very good sandro perfomance... stoke were really giving it to him but he stood strong
Lennon - 6 could have done more, much more to stretch stoke and to get into the box
Bale - 7 he did so much for our attack, and had made better chances for himself too
Adebayor - 6 very hardworking but not inspiring. forgiven as he's only starting his season now, and getting better after every game.
Defoe -5 poor link up, no anticipation for bales crosses (after all these time), the little chances he had he blew them


AVB: 6 needed more creativity in build up to fill the gap that Dempsey vacated. two strikers against 6 men defence is just too crowded. but whatever he told them to do at half time worked.

Both contradicted yourselves here. I personally thought it was quite obvious that we needed Sigurdsson but unfortunately we had to wait until the 78th minute for him to arrive on the pitch.

Why is my post contradictive? I would've given him 7 or more had he made the change earlier.
 
Lloris 9 Superb performance, complete unfazed by Stoke, despite those who questioned his fragility

just wanted to say that, as I think he is being massively undermarked
