That I guess we’ll only know when Poch brings his book out years after he’s left Spurs. :)

I am really looking forward to that one. Those who have Poch's current book - is it any worth reading, especially since we've reached a new and different reality since it was published? Does it offer any insights into why we are suffering so much now?

What is not mad is trying to take advantage of a club that is on its knees. When they are in a desperate situation, and Villa were ,it is likely they will (or will have to) accept what you are offering.

Levy's approach might of been different if he knew a new money man was coming in to ease Villas woes. He didnt. But bash his approach anyway.

Life is always perfect in the rear view mirror.

I still think theres a difference between wanting a player, and WANTING a player.

    We wanted Grealish, IMO.

Indeed, the way i heard it was we has a 25 million bid accepted but the new owner stated that he wanted no one sold until he had the take over done. Then when it was the price went up but we did have a 25 bid accepted before he took over.

Not seen him play but Turkey are meant to have some very good young defenders in the current international team.

Watching Germany vs Argentina and Lukas Klostermann at right wing back looks like a quality player. Havertz looks different class too. Young German players bossing Argentina. Think that's where we should be looking to buy new signings.

Same as he does for us.

Shocking defensively but some nice passing.

Chalk and cheese with Klostermann. Foyth is much like Corluka at right back. Tidy in possession but not quite the dynamic fullback the modern game demands.

So long as he doesn't get an injury, I'll be happy.

Looking at the lineup, I thought it looked like quite a weak Argentine team.

Germany forward Thomas Muller, 30, is unhappy with his reduced role at Bayern Munich and admits he could seek a move in January. (Kicker, via Mail)
    Any takers?

I was a huge fan of Corluka.

And as you mention him, I recall the team he played in. Lennon ahead of him (what a partnership they were) and on the left flank Ekotto and Modric.

Modric naturally coming inside, Ekotto naturally bombing on and Corluka - very nearly a CB anyway, shuffling along to make a solid back 3.

Width, numbers in the middle, solid defensively and still room for attackers. Ah the memories, the faithful old wonky 442

Have we seen enough of Foyth to be able to compare him to Corluka. IMO if we had a right back as good as Corluka was then we would be absolutely fine.

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are interested in signing Norway international Mathias Normann from Russian outfit FC Rostov, according to Goal.

It’s fair to say both Spurs and United have not enjoyed dream starts to the Premier League season. They have fewer points put together (20) than Liverpool have accumulated on their own so far with Mauricio Pochettino and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer coming under huge pressure as a result.

Tottenham and Manchester United are teams in transition, caught between a fading old era and an exciting new one, with shiny new signings required if they are to force their way back into Champions League reckoning.

And 23-year-old Normann, a skilful and technically gifted attacking midfielder, apparently finds himself at the centre of a tug of war between two fallen giants.

Goal adds that Rostov would demand up to £20 million for Normann, who spent two years with Brighton and Hove Albion until January 2019 before moving to Russia.

He has been a big hit at Rostov, winning the Russian Player of the Month award recently while making a first ever appearance for the Norwegian national team, which is easier said than done given the wealth of young talent available to the Scandinavians at the moment.

United have one considerable advantage too. Normann worked with Solskjaer during a loan spell at Molde and a reunion at Old Trafford could be a dream come true.
