Tanguy Ndombele

This sounds a bit reminiscent of Ilie Dumitrescu. I was told that despite his talent, the coaching staff soon discovered that he didn’t fancy the physical side of the game in England. One heavy tackle and he wasn’t interested. It was why he soon disappeared at Spurs.
Can’t do that with a £60m player
He was kid fine with the physical stuff vs Norwich

Sexy footballer but if he cant play in England and that is something the coaching staff will figure out then hope we dont keep him around for 5 years while his value goes to zero.

I don’t think the league is any more or less physical than France, it’s just that every player our physio team get hold of seem to fall apart.

He was an ever present for Lyon, we’ve broken him.

What we have broken his brain? I say that because it’s all in the head with him it seems
The gig didn’t get hurt at all when getting knocks vs Norwich as it was going his way with ball retention and drive
against Southampton that wasn’t the case and he really looked desperate to get off that pitch

Were you there today @Bedfordspurs ? I was, I haven't been to as many games this season but you see a WHOLE lot more that you choose to see compared to the TV. Not tactics etc but the nuances, the interaction between players, the off the ball stuff, the energy of the team.

And of course Ndombele plainly looking for a way out.

Nah I’m in wales on holiday with family and friends
It was obvious on TV

The annoying thing for me is I actually thought he was doing ok. One very good drive from deep got us into their box and then fouled a couple of times whilst driving forward.

I’m wondering if he doesn’t fancy that DM role. For Lyon he was a touch further up, when he collected it he either had an assist opportunity or was one take-on from being able to assist. Today he was taking it on the edge of our 18 yard box. Big ask for a flair player to keep doing that.

Again, showing how key a good and reliable dcm will be for us. It should be the easiest position that a club like ours should be able to fill. the fact that nothing seems readily available even in the academy is actually quite shocking..

Skipp...

But Jose is likely to see him as a viable option unless desperate.

Do you think Skipp could really do a job right now? My worry is that he barely even played under Poch, who as we know would always be more up for playing academy players...so i fear he isn't really that good..

Our recruitment strategy needs questioning. These players are young and not the smartest so will rely on agents and clubs for stuff they are unaware of. I might be biased but we seem to be one of the few clubs who can't get a new recruit hitting the ground running, and have regular issues regarding misfit ting roles/expectations with foreign players. Too cold, too rough, too much English - but what would you expect? Liverpool stands out for me as one of the clubs who recruits right.

Beginning to remind me of Paulinho until Charlie Adam put the fear of GHod into him and he became afraid to play any more samba football.

What big money signings have hit the ground running lately? And I mean consistently playing at the top level expected for their fees... so did example someone will quote pulisic why he has been dropped for a lot of games this season so isn’t playing at the “top” for a £56m player
Only one that really springs to mind is Aubemeyang and he is very experienced

Mourinho coming across like a Roy Keane / Graham Souness dinosaur here.
The guy said he was not feeling fit enough to play without risking a further injury.
Mourinho purblicly shames him about it in a press conference turning everyone against him if he does declare himself fit.
He plays a game against Norwich.
He predictably gets injured 3 days later against Southampton.
Then he has a go at him in a press conference.

Well done Mourinho. Back to being a clown shoe.
