I wouldn't say it was a dive per se, as he looked a little off balance and there was a tiny bit of contact, but it was no pen.

This is the same Di María that a lot of supporters didn't think was good enough for us (when mentioned as part of the deal) .. Absolute joke..

Di Maria thread - Some of the quotes...

Gazza - No thanks, massive wages, average player
Spursalot - Not a fan from what i've seen. He can stay at Real.
Kingdawson - I don't really rate him tbh.
Superhudd - He's Downing minus shooting.
Bullett - Do not rate him at all, very average
El Guepardo - Not good enough.
Spasm - admit to not watched him much. but from what little i've seen, he's ****.

Ha ha fair enough - I get that one or two might not have seen much of him or not want him for diving etc but pretty much everyone was against him and saying not good enough for us, just stuck in my mind..

I didn't want him because he's a **** and a despicable cheat, nothing to do with his ability.

I did. I don't rate him as highly as others do. I know what he's capable of but I doubt his consistency and think at times he's too predictable.

Strange my memory was that most thought he was good, just not appropriate (for a number of reasons).

As your post shows, my memory is shoddy.

Yeah you can tell he didnt dive, soon as he went down he looked for where the ball was rather than the ref...

No question that would have been a booking for diving last season. But this was for RM at the Bernabeu. Although in this instance the ref got it right, you can see the defender got an elbow into his chest just as he attempted to control the ball, which is why he lost his balance.

This, the guy would be crucified by Spur's fans, capable of looking like a complete donkey and a world class player in the same match (regularly), strange ...

so ancelotti confirms that Man U put in a bid like +50% more than Real and we still sold to Real.
i know its a local rival but really - it sure must have been difficult to turn down 40 big ones!

Interesting. 40mil is a lot of wonga. I am very surprised that this amount was turned down (or offered actually). Is Levy thinking of the big prize now???

Added to the fact that it triggered Madrid selling Ozil to scum. What I don't understand is, we let the deal go down ALMOST to the wire, we sold him the day before th window closed. I was under the impression we were stalling so that scum couldn't get any Madrid players, if that was the case then we didn't we wait until about 5 minutes before the window closed?
