Any club would give a player who's cost as much, or half as much, maybe even quarter as much, as Bale a season at the very least to settle in even if they wern't producing their best form.

But this is Real Madrid we're talking about. The way I see it Bale has 2 or 3 more games to turn it around otherwise he'll be cast on to the bench where he'll be given the odd 10 or 20 miniutes to turn it around. If he doesn't manager too after a few sub apperances, he'll be cast into the reserves and never heard of again. Just like Kaka.

Welcome to Real Madrid. They'll love you if your expensive and glamarous but if you don't hit it off straight away your despised and hated. Fickle bunch of idiots.

Is that a joke? If so that's a pathetic attempt at bragging!!!

It's 1333 times the student loan I have got to last me to December. Could pay for the 250 people living in my student halls 4 x over with change left!!!!!

I have a few Madridians in the family and knowing them as I do this read is pretty close to how it'll pan out for him I think. They are not a patience bunch.

I know it is very early days but in my opinion this move was always going to fail. I still can't really blame him for wanting the move for reasons that have been done to death on here, but even if he performs to a high level that will not sate the horde. They'll want better. Relative to his price tag he will always come up short and it is probably just a matter of time before the crowd turn on him.

He needs a few monster performances quickly to sway the tide of public opinion and buy himself the odd off game. His few short appearancse to date have been disastrous. Injury and fitness are probably partly to blame. It's hard to tell who is telling the truth with the whole back injury thing but it does buy him a little more time at the very least.

I hope the rumours aren't true. Whatever anyone thinks about what transpired over the summer, he had his head turn and I blame his agent for a lot of that greed.

However he still provided us with some amazing memories and its not often we can say we had a world class player in our ranks. He also helped fund most of our purchases this summer.

If RM do dump him expect him to find his way back to the EPL- United could do a lot worse as could Emirates Marketing Project.

I agree. As far as Madrid is concerned, Ha ha ha - caveat emptor and all that. If you act like ****s, you deserve everything you get.

As for Bale, I am grateful for all the memories and the new team he largely funded. I would hate it if he turned up in the EPL for one of our rivals. Absolutely hate it. I can see him going to Liverscum in a swop for Suarez. That would not be good news for us.

What amazes me is how players of his physique are allowed to drive such absurd sports cars which absolutely compromise their posture. Laugh all ya want, but if I was paying someone 200k a week or whatever, I would absolutely demand that every angle of this nature be thoroughly researched. It'd be the same as cramming him into a coach seat to fly long distance; you wouldn't do it. It all adds up...

There's a campaign against Bale and Real Madrid, says Perez

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has voiced his anger with the way Gareth Bale has been treated since his world-record move from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

A number of Spanish media outlets have been critical of the Welshman's fitness, with several reports earlier this week even suggesting Bale could face months on the sidelines, with conflicting stories claiming he had either a hernia or slipped disk.

Madrid quickly dismissed suggestions that the 24-year-old has a serious back problem, though, and Perez has now hit out at the press for the way they have reported on the €100 million (£86m) man in recent weeks.

"Certain media outlets surpass what criticism is. It's a permanent campaign. ;The information published about Bale is extremely cruel, even if it was true. Being false, it becomes clear that they have a target," Perez told Punto Pelota.

"Should Bale have a slipped disk, we would have told the media so. We would never ;have signed him if that was the case.

"Here in Madrid, you know the press try not to appear as Madridistas. News like the report about Bale would never have been published in Barcelona, being false as it is.

"There's a campaign against myself and others at Madrid."

Bale has made three official appearances for Madrid since his move from Tottenham Hotspur.

    -------------------------------

Very funny. After using the Spanish media to force us to sell Bale, now Real are fighting the same media instead.:ross:

Barca banned players from driving sports cars. Guardiola told Ibrahimavic that Barca players are not showbiz egotistical idiots, they do not drive sports cars and flaunt their wealth and fame and get in the papers...

So Ibra got a sports car.

“At Barca, players were banned from driving their sports cars to training. I thought this was ridiculous – it was no one’s business what car I drive – so in April, before a match with Almeria, I drove my Ferrari Enzo to work. It caused a scene.”
