Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

Im more concerned with the distance between the drop and the sideline than i am the drop itself - can't be much more than a foot of flat surface, which would be about half the size (at most) of the comparable photo of old trafford above...

Infact it's probably closer to a third/quarter of what's shown in the old trafford pic

Our slopes don't look as steep as theirs, so I'd imagine we'll be able to work it out. Bit of a curved run up etc.

We never score from bloody corners anyway, ask @Pirate55 ;)

Hope it isn't an issue but it's hard to see how It won't be tbh

Wow, that is quite strange to see.

Looking at that pic again this morning, it's taken from the South Stand. Yes, the drop towards the South Stand is pretty steep and comes in within a metre or so, but the slope towards the East Stand is a lot shallower. Don't see it being a major problem in reality.

It doesn't look too bad from this image in today's Guardian

Erm...see, there's *short*, and then there's 'absolutely no run-up possible'. If this picture is accurate, I think our stadium will be the latter - a lot of corners will need to be taken from a position of essentially standing still. Which will be a major impediment to getting it in the box.

Same thing with linos and such - they might just fall over if they're not careful while running up and down those extremely tight sidelines. That gradient is concerning.

There has to be more to this.

I’m with you. I’m sure there is more to it they have thought about, and maybe it is something of an illusion with the pics, but I just don’t see how a corner run up is possible from the pictures we have seen.

Agreed, that's the part that concerns me as well. It seems as though the corners will most likely be all outswingers where the run up is from the sideline rather than inswingers taken from below the goal line.

Doesn’t seem to be any problem at Old Trafford, or Goodison, or old WHL...

I’ve looked a lot at the OT pic in this thread and the space before the drop looks a lot larger there than it does at our new place? Am I the only one seeing that? In the OT pic, it looks like there is easily enough room for a corner run up. On ours it doesn’t.

How ridiculous is that? To have a stadium that precludes you from taking a certain type of set piece?

I’m sure we’ve thought about it and there is some solution, but I’d love to know what it is because right now the idea that our great new stadium prevents inswingers would be so bad.
