I reference that in my initial post, I think thats what now makes the subject more complex.

Kempes turning up begging to sign always makes me chuckle. Shreeves I think it was not understanding a word

    The Falklands

Our claim is significantly weaker than theirs though in history. Discovery then leaving to then come back isn't strong enough for me, especially when the geography is beyond ridiculous. I would feel far more comfortable with us now having the claim to the Falklands, Argentina or no Argentina...

    The Falklands

I think they did and I think they have a right to think they do, but its more complex because its inhabited by people who were effectively implanted by the British, which makes it hugely problematic to resolve. I think their claim historically post Spanish revolution in Argentina is stronger...

Or they see them as all and the same, considering they also invaded them in 1982. You don't go that that effort for "caring less"

And no dispute, my point was that the Argies can largely IMO be forgiven for having emotional connections to that period in their history. Given British history I can't condemn them for having such feeling TBH,

They always had interest, it was on all official maps from around the 1800s They pushed for it post WW2 and all number of bodies were involved in trying to find resolution

World Cup 2026: Mexico, USA and Canada

Our footballing culture here is screwed IMO especially at international level. We reward and applaud safety and then people moan and groan when someone tries something different, thats the basis of why IMO we are where we are. We love the idea of mavericks and winners but we don't have the...

I know from talking to a client who is based in BA that its taught about from a young age, its in the curricular, national symbolism and is a source of public discourse. So like I say, its complex, I think its fairly understandable why people who grew up with it as part of their history feel...

    Djed Spence

In a steady environment though and one in which he is clearly being trusted (look at the reaction from those around him). Spurs has been anything but a stable environment for anyone over the past 2/3 years IMO He is clearly a very talented footballer and one who I personally think will...

Of course, like many Brits who are critics. But thats part of what makes it complex IMO, these are hugely emotive subjects harvested in hugely emotive people and its part of their history. And in fairness its alot closer to home for them than it is for us
