    Next seasons squad

7 transfers but 2 of them are zero transfer fee. Of the others, the keeper could well be very low cost. That leaves 4 players, many of which I’m suggesting aren’t particularly expensive. I also think we’ll pull in £130m or so in sales.

Brentford were always amongst the worst few teams to watch in the league IMO.

I must’ve blinked and missed that.

One that can only pass backwards but is likely to win a few free kicks in the hope that we can get a goal from the resulting ball pumped into the box?

I'm not yet sure about him. Sometimes he looks like Wharton in terms of his passing ability but other times he appears anonymous.

There is no difference if a 32 year old player on a large wage is injured or a 25 year old player on a large wage is injured.

I honestly couldn't give a fudge if we spend £200m or £2m net. All I care about is us improving our squad. My guess is that we'll spend about £80m net this summer but increase the wage bill quite significantly. The key for us it not to spend more it is to spend better

The last guy was at fault. We spent money terribly over most of the last 8 to 10 years or so or so of his reign. If you think the amount of money we have spent is the problem we've had at Spurs then I don't think you've honed in on the real problem.

Indeed. And we can also say it about players that all of us have bigged up over the years that have ended up being brick (I've had enough shockers there with young players I wanted who ended up doing fudge all). I still tend to trust those who work in football and who's jobs depend on the...

Seems like really sensible planning to me. Sell a player who is around his peak but had a poor season clearly wants out and selling him while he still has significant transfer value. But replacing him with a player who is also at his peak, who is proven in the PL, come of the back of a great...

I don't get the 'if we must make free transfers' bit? Why on earth shouldn't clubs make free transfers? Does a player become better just because we spend big money on a transfer fee?

    Andy Robertson

All due respect mate but I'd trust the eyes of De Zerbi more than yours in relation to this point. I've not really seen anything to suggest he has lost a yard. I've seen a player who previously played a lot of games who instead had a stop start season. I saw him have a few poor performances...

So first one nothing to do with legs having gone. Second one, who knows? Third one says he still brings a lot to the team. Of course his best years are behind him but all we need to consider is whether he will improve our squad. I think he will and I think he’ll be first choice but time will tell.

I find it strange that some of our fans on here can’t see that. I’ve been watching Spurs for close to 50 years and Frank’s Spurs are the worst Spurs team I have seen no gameplan and no ambition.
