Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

Yeah agreed on the getting it wrong Steff. I respect his viewpoint on it and I’d never expect him to admit that was wrong. He just misjudged the mood a bit and I’m happy to see he’s big enough to admit that. I also like the fact he threw none of his staff under the bus when the journo was...

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

Thanks for that. I think he's recovered the situation and explained his position really well. I'm more all in on him than I've been after this week. I love the fact he admitted he got it wrong and I fully respect his viewpoint on it. Two other things I'll say about Ange in today's press...

A mate of mine who’s a Celtic fan and a Gooner (fudger is from Harlow but claims he’s Scottish) was giving me brick for Tuesday. I asked “are you seriously telling me that if you boys played Aberdeen and you winning gave Rangers the title, you’d want Celtic to win.” “fudge no,” was his response...

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

Fair play, thought that was an excellent press conference particularly after recent events. Think he added some very good context to the comments on Tuesday night which shows they weren’t anywhere near as harsh as first assumed. Good job by Ange. You can see why lads would want to play for him...

    VAR: Sponsored by Chelsea

You're looking for perfection in a game where some decisions have a bit of subjectivity about them. 100% will never happen and I think the cost of getting there is too high. Get the objective stuff right, offsides and goal line, and that's good enough for me.

    VAR: Sponsored by Chelsea

Saw that. In fairness, that's a massive increase in accuracy and a very strong argument for keeping VAR. I'm still on the side that says "offsides only" and would be interested to see the stats with offside stripped out.

But we've a better chance of winning the Conference League than the Europa... That's how this works isn't it?

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

Don’t really do Twitter or Facebook but had a peek today. Found myself getting wound up by crap and had to pull myself back from replying more than once. It’s a fudging toilet inhabited by a lot of people who don’t know what they’re talking about, people who parrot cheap cliches and people who...

Offside is an objective thing too so I’d be alright with that if it’s the semi automated version that gets us a decsion quickly. I know it can be frustrating when you have a decision go against you by the width of someone’s toe but I’d rather that I think. The rest I could live without.

Takes a few incredible results for us not to get Europa one way or another. Hopefully we finish the season in the right way and get it ourselves.

Do we get Europa if we finish 6th?

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

That really is an excellently articulated article. Agreed with every word. Mind boggling that the likes of Holt and Samuel get more attention and better paid for the pious, detached from reality drivel they've been spouting.

Yeah I agree. Whatever people’s attitude to it or however the felt about it, I don’t doubt anyone on here absolutely loves the club. The last few days have been an absolute nightmare. Very sad and very uncomfortable.

Is getting CL football a sporting achievement of much merit? Not saying I wouldn't have preferred it to EL but it's not something we'll be putting on our list of honours whereas Woolwich could claim they were the side that dethroned the cheaters (which they still might). It'd be a massive trophy...

Athletic reporting that there will be a vote next month amongst the clubs to get rid of it. Didn't see that coming. Personally, I'd keep it for the automated offsides and that would be it. If it's a choice between all or nothing, I'd go with nothing and I was a strong advocate for its introduction.

@Glenda's Legs is absolutely right. There was singing and I've heard it be that flat at other games this season. Granted, under normal circumstances, the atmosphere would have been better given the importance of the game but does anyone seriously expect that fans are not going to be someway...

I genuinely wanted us to win. Did I lose sleep over us losing? Not really. Certainly not as much as I would have done under normal circumstances. I was just relieved it was all over at the end.

Support was muted but it was there. The overwhelming majority of fans (all except 1) I spoke to didn't want us to lose.

Interesting take by Eccleshare - sort of sums up how I feel about City: And so, on May 14, 2024, modern Premier League football reached its logical next step: Tottenham Hotspur fans rooting against their team when facing Emirates Marketing Project because they’d rather lose than have rivals Arsenal win...
