Pav may have been crap in the build up but I always thought he had a decent shot on him. He scored some real crackers.

    Guglielmo Vicario

Yup. His first mistake was to try to control the ball. He should have booted it out of play as soon as he got to it. That way he stood a much better chance of getting back on his line in time. But ... ces't la vie. It is what it is, so we move on.

For 'that' goal I think fans are asking why didn't he just put the ball out of I'd say we fans also need to take some responsiblity. Clearly if we start booing a player once they've made a mistake it can be unnerving and, if anything, risks leading him to make more errors. Ergo we all need to...

You mean become as boring as the pack? Give me someone who speaks his mind. Especially when he a;so manages to be more entertaining than the rest of them put together.

    Brennan Johnson

Which begs the question, why not? To answer my own question, because the intensity of the PL means he'd be floored long before he could go on a run like that neer mind get his shot away.

Wishing you a full and speedy recovery Tony. It was always such a joy to watch your wingplay, the way you so often beat your man and put crooses on a plate for our forwards to latch onto.

Ha. Proof that football is emphatically not just about winning trophies. Take note, Jurgen.

I do remember watching it live on tv at the time. Remember being surprised at how well Leicester played considering they were effectively a man down for most of the game. We got lucky that Chalmers was crippled so early on. Was not convinced at the time we would have won it otherwise.

Also crashed a volley against the crossbar. Booked second half and later subbed off.

🤔 Interestingly I think he also said that as a trainee he was weak on his left foot and that it wasn't until he broke into the first team (still a kid at 17) that he was properly coached to become strong on both pegs.

Excellent performance overall. Had Johnson in his pocket (admittedly not difficult) and produced several forward passes putting attackers through on goal. Not his fault they failed to capitalise.

Erm ...two trophies and just the one top four finish in 25 years whilst bouncing around the top flight and League 1 in between? Come on!

    Daniel Levy - Former Chairman

Yeah, that would be 97/98, the season we brought Klinsman in to bolster our attack and rescue us from the drop. He did just that with a morale-boosting four goals away to Wimbledon that crucially reversed the downward momentum.

    Daniel Levy - Former Chairman

This is a massive point that's conveniently queezed out by the media. Prior to the arrival of the oligarch at Cheatski and the sports-washing oil magnates at City, those three clubs had already established something approaching a monopoly of the trophies available. Meanwhile we were fighting...
