Yeah it does seem a little bit high for this year compared to last but, like you say, nothing too restrictive in terms of ability to raise wages if we wanted to but Levy runs a very tight ship. Took a look at Liverpool and United for comparison. Think Liverpool had around a 100m or just under...

It’s a fair point but they were complimented by some top players. The first league they won, they had five 1-0 wins where Cantona got the only goal and in some of those you had Schmeichel being a human wall (most notably at Saudi Sportswashing Machine). Throw in Irwin, Bruce, Pallister, Cole and Keane and they...

It’s okay. Found it under trade payables. Enjoy the alcohol, sing some spurs songs and we’ll continue the discussion when you’re hungover :D

    Daniel Levy - Chairman

What does this even mean? Arsenal won the league at ours 20 years ago. It’s not liken they’re winning it every year. In fact that was their last title. You said above you don’t expect us to be league winners so what do you expect the owners to do to “change that”. I also doubt you’ll find a...

Still not getting how ENIC have taken money that is the football club’s for themselves which is what you accused them of. Our league position has improved. We’ve been top 6 of something like 15 of the last 19 years. We hadn’t finished top 6 in the 15 years before that. It’s our best run of...

There is a strategy there and it is coherent. And if that’s what it is, fine. But you need a massive amount of hits with that strategy because as Bervall, Gray and so on improve to the level they can carry us, we’ll see Solanke, Bissouma and Bentancur (as three examples) hit the downward slide...

You throw out a wild accusation about Levy siphoning off funds, despite our accounts being in the public domain, and the burden of proof is on @DubSpur to prove you wrong? Haha that’s mad stuff. I think you’ve siphoned off money from Spurs and while we’re at it, I think you shot JFK too. Prove...

That number, or close to it, is there every year. But it largely gets offset against revenue rather than our cash reserves. I'd venture a guess most clubs of our size have similar liabilities in their accounts because it's mostly player trading. Do we know that to be true and, if so, how much...

Ah, there is 158m in there falling due within 12 months which will get accounted for in our P&L and will be paid, largely, by money we brought in in 2024. We still have more than enough headroom to increase wages. I'll bet any amount of money, when the accounts come out in April, our cash...

Where are you seeing that in the accounts? From what I can see, we owe £851m made up of loans for the stadium and the Covid loan. Of that amount, £816m does not fall due for more than 5 years - page 38 of last year's annual report. Only 4m falls due in the next year or so (that obviously doesn't...

We've almost 200m in cash. Doesn't need to come from transfer spend.

    Ange in or out?

Has to be enough to limp on and I'm one of the ones who want him gone. To win away in Europe with pretty much nothing on the bench is a decent effort. I know Hoffenheim are struggling themselves but it would be mad to hold on to him after Everton and then fire him now. Win Sunday, he'll...

    OMT Tottenham Hotspur vs Hoffenheim

Didn’t get to see most of it as was out and about. Caught the bits on Sky Go where they were dominating but believe we battered them first half. What was the summary and who played well? Good result in fairness. Fair play to Ange and the players.

    Ange in or out?

My favourite argument at the time was that some people were hypothesizing that when Poch said "we need to be brave", he meant that it would be brave to not sign anyone and keep the same squad. Mental gymnastics I think they call that...

    Ange in or out?

It's a very good article. On one side of the argument, none of us are experts in this field so the danger is that our opinion gets coloured by our view of Ange. Also, you'd imagine if Levy was watching multi million pound assets getting flogged by the manager, he'd be in the manager's ear in...

Wouldn’t take any public statement about transfers as fact during a window. It’s all a game. Ange can’t really say “we’re desperate to make signings” when he’d have to be a fool to think any different.

    Ange in or out?

I don't see a massive issue with that bit of the interview to be honest. What the reporter led with was a bit of a dig albeit it was a fairly innocuous dig. Ange bit and let him know and then conducted the rest of the interview pretty well. He's definitely like Fergie when it comes to the...

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

Your last sentence is key. I see a lot of people online who are anti Levy making out that he’s some sort of Machiavellian conniver who: 1. Is waiting for the window to close until he sacks Ange so he doesn’t have to spend anything 2. Is keeping Ange in a job to make himself look more patient 3...

    Ange in or out?

I don’t think he’s a clown shoe and I don’t think arrogance necessarily equates to being one. You need a steadfast belief in what you’re doing to achieve what Ange has achieved in his career. He has that to the point he can be a bit condescending but he’s still a likeable man IMO.
