    Not nearly enough. Ukraine should have been fast tracked into NATO at the very earliest opportunity. Germany probably would still have fought tooth and claw to appease their gas-supplying overlords but at least there would have been a basis for defending them. Scotland is in the UK, it's not...

    Is that what you think they're doing? If so, you'll be disappointed. What you call austerity (and everyone else calls being fiscally responsible) is here until the effect of COVID are done (about 2-3 generations).

    It doesn't have to be one or the other. It's quite important for all of the countries bordering Russia that they don't gain from starting wars. We shouldn't have stared at our feet when they did it to Georgia and we shouldn't have twiddled our thumbs when they first did it to Ukraine.
