Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

I must be irrational then. Not saying you can't improve it, but I think this squad is actually pretty damn good compared to what Jose and Conte had to work with. I would have said at the start of the season that the GK, defence and midfield is the strongest area. The forward line has it all...

But who? Didn't Dorgu sign a new contract recently? I think we may have cooled our interest as he signed and the transfer fee went high. I reckon I'll be googling their name if we sign one.

Contingency planning : If Ange is sacked, who should replace him?

It's not just Mason now though. Matt Wells has stepped into the more senior role, and Lange is an ex coach. Rob Burch is a Spurs boy as well. We'd probably just see Ange and Jedniak leave. I wouldn't be sure about Montgomery and Raimundo as I don't quite understand where there allegiances are...

    Ange in or out?

I hope not. That would be like sacking the guy after an away NLD when you have 6 or 7 first teamers out. We might have a 1-0 lead, but we're not favourites at Anfield. The expected outcome even with the 1st team would be to go out of that cup. I hope we don't, but if we do let Ange go, I hope...

Contingency planning : If Ange is sacked, who should replace him?

You are right. The heavy lifting is done. Even so, we still end up with about 30 players who will want to be in our first team squad. There is also a lot of quality there, and hopefully we'll get a couple more to make it look really stacked.

Contingency planning : If Ange is sacked, who should replace him?

I just don't buy into this narrative. Reggie was frozen out by the manager, and in an injury crisis has stepped up just like he was always going to. Reggie was always the better option over Davies last summer for LB. Spence is another decent option, whilst VDV can shift over. As I've said many...

"Going by what Ange has said" lol - that's as bad as "It is what it is mate" Only jesting :-)

    U23s, Academy and Loanees

I think it depends. I don't necessarily agree with a 23 year old Max Robson taking a shirt in our U21s, but when an U18 comes in an plays against 21 year olds that is a learning curve. It's even better when they play League 1 / 2 teams in the cup. Such a shame that we don't adopt the Spanish...

    Ange in or out?

Yep, which is why the Ange attributes hired by Munn are still so important right now. Can you imagine Jose or Conte sitting in the pressers at the moment. They would be in total meltdown and pointing fingers everywhere. It definitely wouldn't be their fault. They wouldn't have held this dressing...

    ***OMT TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs Everton***

I would encourage you to get used to only 2 signings per window. It's really where we need to be now. Quality over quantity. Now we have this amazing foundation in place, we need to avoid any signing that doesn't add more gold dust to what we already have.

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

I'm hoping what happens is that the experience of the last 2-3 months makes the entire squad stronger. Not only will we have the original first teamers back, but we now have Kinsky, Spence, Dragu, Gray, Bergval etc. Hopefully Richi gets going, whilst we actually get a long run of Bents being...

    Ange in or out?

Great post. What I'm hoping is happening is that Levy didn't hire Ange in the first place. I'm hoping that it is Munn that is holding his nerve. In fact, I hope I never see Levy hire or fire a manager ever again. He had his chance to run football ops and was hopeless at it. He needs to remain...

    U23s, Academy and Loanees

The part I keep coming back to is the role of the 1st team bench. Modern football gets the luxury of 5 subs nowadays, and those cameos are so important. Even better with your boy that he can play at both mens and academy levels at the same time. You never hear of this at Spurs. It seems that if...

Contingency planning : If Ange is sacked, who should replace him?

We need to shift Forster, Whiteman, Davies, Reggie, Gil, Solomon and obviously send Werner back. That's 7 of our 33 listed first teamers on the official website (ignoring Hojbjerg). We then need to promote 2 or 3 from the academy to the first team. Moore is clearly one of them. Perhaps Keeley...

    ***OMT TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs Everton***

I would assume that all our boys got home at a reasonable hour after the last away game 8-) They now get the extra days rest and then they get another 4 days rest before the EL game. Here's hoping we see some freshness, especially as the squad gets bigger with Bentancur's return. Perhaps...

    James Maddison

In the cold light of day, this statement has serious implications. So we've spent hundreds of millions yet don't have the quality behind the wide players and they are not the right profiles themselves. That is quite scary, if true. I don't believe it fortunately. We have loads of quality. In...

I would question Levy, Munn, Lange and the bloody tea-lady if that idiot walks through our door.

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

I can absolutely give Ange some slack for the "days without players" due to injury. It's massive. I don't always buy into the spending arguments though. Ange's job is simply to take the squad he is given between transfer windows and make it perform at its optimal level. He can do no more than...

    Ange in or out?

I think the biggest reason is that we'd like to see him for a period of time with his full squad. We'd like to see things normalise back down to average injuries for a PL team.
