Ye Olde Summer Transfer Window of 2013

Transfer rumour forum is closed but there is a lot of interesting (to me) stuff in the papers. Apparently Ozil was offered to United weeks ago for substantially less than Arsenal paid.

What is that with the Herrera deal?

Fabregas reckons he would not leave Barca even for 3 times his wages.

Luiz said he did not go to Barca despite more money.

Rooney is still at United.

Only just noticed Niko's gone to QPR, seems a dreadful decision to me, 29 years old, surely he should have higher ambitions than playing in the championship for a manager who (in my very humble opinion) didn't use him to his best potential whilst at Spurs

Niko is one of the most skilful players we ever had at Spurs. But his career says everything about him.

Nani have signed a new 5-year deal at United. I'm guessing no genuine interest materialised and he's taken a small paycut.

I always felt we never got the best out of Niko. We thought we should have played him as a number 10 to cover-up his defensive deficiencies, but we always played him on the wing or as CM where his lack pace was exposed, repeatedly. If QPR don't get promoted with the players they have in their squad Harry should be shot.

Wow! Big punts by Southampton and Cardiff and sensible buying by the other "minnows." I thought Sunderland had spent a lot

I rather hope it goes tits up for Soton for more than one reason.

Who did Sunderland sell? I thought they practically bought a new side!

Fellatio and Benteke?

I have a feeling that traditionalists among the United faithful might be twitching their moustaches.

They sold McClean for £1.5m :O and to a side, who from what I've seen, have adopted the long ball tactics this year....could be a future player for the wasted potential thread.
