Vincent Marcel is on the radar of Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham
Ricardo, 23, has been lined up to replace Kyle Walker, who is wanted by Emirates Marketing Project – but Marcel is seen as a star of the future.

Keep up to date with ALL the Tottenham news, gossip, transfers and goals on our club page plus fixtures, results and live match commentary.

The youngster has been compared to Ousmane Dembele with his pace on the flanks and may compete for a first-team place immediately.

Marcel has played for France Under-20s but would not command a huge fee despite having four years left on his Nice deal.

He turned out just nine times for the Ligue 1 outfit last term – including just six in the French top flight.

Ricardo was at Nice on loan from Porto last season so Spurs must deal with the Portuguese giants to get a deal done.

He played 29 times for the French giants last term, scoring twice and has two full international caps.

Our obsession with signing young french wingers are getting quite humorous. :D

Crap young French wingers as well

This guy is so good that he made all of 6 league appearances last season?!? We did well to see him play!!!!

Well I guess this is what we pay our scouts good money for - to find the next big thing Nice and early.

I'd happily wager reasonable money on him not making more than say 10-20 PL starts for us if he signs. For every Eric Dier or Danny Rose, there's many more unheard of players who we sign who turn out to be crap. Most of our best signings were established players when we signed them - Lloris, Alder, Dembele, Vertonghen, Wanyama, Son, Eriksen, Lamela...similar with other back-ups like Trippier and Davies

It's odd though as players like Dele, Dier, Rose would command massive record fees.

Not saying this chap is the answer but one player like this can make up for all the flops.

Who cares, as long as we don't spend a lot of money on them? It is worth taking a punt on a player if you can move them on for little or no loss if it doesn't work out.

They were all proven but also a lot older in age or career wise and all had played their careers in different countries apart form Hugo

Your not really comparing apples with apples there. A £3m kid from France would be more like when Arsenal signed Anelka as a genuine unknown
