Seems to confirm what most are thinking.

Are there any sources better than an internet gossip mag?

Of course not. Everyone deserves the market rate for their efforts and the freedom to leave whenever they choose.

This is the very opposite end of the political spectrum from mine

Thats unfair on @scaramanga he is not the villain that some make him out to be.

He is too far to the right for my tastes and I disagree with almost all he says about faith/relligion but in general he is a decent guy even if he tries to hide that most of the time :)

And I bet he's paid you a very good market rate to say that?

    :D

    https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/trump-china-uighur-oppression-human-rights-b1763945.html

"Looking to the United States, the Uighur diaspora is very worried. Many of us are fearful now that Donald Trump is leaving the White House. To most onlookers this will seem like heresy, but you have to try to put yourself in our shoes. For years nobody stood up for us. The Obama administration: nothing. The David Cameron government: nothing. Angela Merkel: nothing. Theresa May: nothing. Trump? Under Trump, the secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, pursued an aggressive line on China, which gave us hope. For the first time, our oppressors were being sanctioned, and real action was being taken to prevent companies sourcing goods made with Uighur slave labour."

Doesn't the UN have to act on confirmed genocide?

It's a long time ago now but I'm sure I remember them weaselling out of action in Rwanda by using the term "genocidal actions" instead of actual "genocide" that would have bound them to act.

I don't think the UN has acknowledged it as genocide. Considering that Iran has just been elected to head the UN Women's Rights Commission, I wouldn't hold my breath about progress with this organisation.

Rwanda is a horrible story. Philip Gourevitch wrote the definitive account of it. The UN -via the US- simply did not send what was requested and could've saved a million lives. Clinton will forever have blood on his hands...

Thought that this thread might be more appropriate place to post about Peng Shuai than Tennis thread, as ties in with CPC’s continual disregard for human rights…
