American politics

Another flob of flimflam from the man who cannot deliver. Let's see if he unveils this "health care plan" he said he had two weeks ago, and which he stated he'd be unveiling, errr, now. Anyone with a brain cell won't kill it holding their breath...
They unveiled the health care plan to Lesley Stahl (60 min interview). Just a bunch of blank pages.

Far from over. And the fallout is he loses could be intense. Right wing militia and all that. Then the question how the Republicans respond over the following years. So they shift away from Trumpism, lick their wounds and try to restore some sense of normalcy.

Then the fact that Trump has proved a blueprint for someone else to follow. Perhaps even someone more competent.

Obviously, I hope that he gets beaten by a big margin and it puts an end to populist nationalism in the US for a generation.

What's more likely, that or us winning the league this season?

A Bidden landslide but it depends on how accurate the polls are and if Bidden is picking up votes in the right places. (And how successful Republicans are in voter suppression).

There was an interesting discussion on this on a recent edition of the Polling Matters podcast. It's worth a listen.

A Biden landslide is probably more likely than us winning a title. If you include "populist nationalism" in the mix I'm not so sure.

Cheers for the tip.

An end to populist nationalism was more a pipedream.

Polling Matters is normally focused on UK politics and opinion polling. I really like it but the US election episode was particularly good.

There are millions who will watch that and say he's sticking it to the liberal media. The kind that would gladly eat brick if a liberal had to smell their breath afterwards. They'll let their Republican politicians give them the proverbial golden shower, not because they're Republicans, but because they're NOT Democrats. How does anyone become so ignorant?

By wealthy and powerful people increasing their wealth and power through making and keeping them ignorant?

You've never heard of the anti-Tory vote in the UK?

It's the same here from the other end of the spectrum.
