American politics

I don’t deny the loss of civilians in drone strikes is a huge negative with their use but in all honesty, using ground troops often leads to accidents too. What did Obama do that was so blatantly wrong? Drones are the natural evolution of war. Overall they’re a good development.

Given that the whole thing was a disgusting scam perpetrated/re-opened by the Bush admin, I should clarify that any activity over there was poor IMO. The whole issue of ground troops in the Middle East is another thread on several levels.

Drones are much better than sending real people in - at least until the world catches up with the idea of sending gingers to fight for us.

The issue is that Obama had been in power for 11 days when nominations closed that year. He didn't do a huge amount through his presidency in general but at that point all he'd done was smile and wave.

Look, if we are going to engage in wars, we need to win them, right?

Fixed for you.

You're confusing the Nobel Peace Prize with his tenure as POTUS. Obama did a lot prior to moving into the White House. No one is claiming he received the award for presidential acts.

I'm not sure anyone credible is claiming he received for any acts at all.

So no fighting when the sun is out?
