    New signing already made!

Spurs complete first signing of the summer as talented teenager officially puts pen to paper
The club have made a new signing for the future this week

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a contract with a talented young Norwegian goalkeeper on a three-year deal.

Bryne goalkeeper Isak Solberg, who turns 16 next month and is 6ft 2ins, signed a contract with Tottenham on Tuesday according to newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad.

Bryne lies just 30km from Stavanger, the hometown of former Spurs goalkeeper Erik Thorstvedt.

Norway youth international Solberg has been invited to two trials with Tottenham's U18s and U16s during the past six months and after he impressed was handed a contract offer which he signed on Tuesday but will not start until his 16th birthday next month.

According to the report, it is a three-year contract which will see him be part of the academy set-up for the first two years and then in the final year turn professional and get a wage increase.

The report also states that Jim Solbakken, Ole Gunnar Solskjær's friend, business partner and agent, assisted Solberg's familiy in the negotiations with Tottenham.

Bryne general manager Asle Tjøtta had previously stated that the club was not entitled to a transfer fee for the player as he had no official contract with the team and is the son of the club's former goalkeeper coach, Thomas Solberg.

However, Tjøtta has now admitted that Bryne would be left with some compensation for teenager, adding: "Tottenham have been very good."

Spurs will be hoping the teenage keeper continues to catch the eye of academy head John McDermott and eventually first team goalkeeper coach Toni Jiminez over the coming years.

    LEICESTER STEPPING UP TIELEMANS DEAL

Fears that Manchester United and Tottenham may make a move for Youri Tielemans have prompted Leicester City to push for a quick deal with Monaco to secure his signature, Sky Sports News understands.

Leicester are wary of getting involved in a bidding war for the Belgian midfielder, but are aware that his form while on loan at the King Power Stadium this season has attracted the attention of some of Europe’s top clubs.

It’s thought Tielemans is keen on a permanent move to Leicester, and has been impressed by new manager Brendan Rodgers.

His parent club, Monaco, had Leicester’s midfielder Adrian Silva on loan this season, and they’re keen to solidify his switch. But we’ve been told that won’t stop them seeking the best price they can for Tielemans, and so they will welcome interest from elsewhere.

If Tielemans is smart he wont rush into anything...

Think that is harsh. 6 assists and 2 goals in an awful side as an 18 year-old for three different managers is a pretty good return tbh. It's even more impressive considering Ranieri kept him out of the team for long stretches, which was one of the reasons their results were awful under him. Plus, he absolutely ripped up the Championship as a 17 year-old, and considering someone like Grealish will likely cost north of 40 million as a 23 year-old, 25-30 mil is a great deal for a future England international. He's super versatile and is younger than most players in our reserve side. If anybody can unlock his potential, it's Poch. To me, this is a no-brainer.

    https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footba...spur-interested-in-arthur-masuaku_359262.html

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a surprise move for West Ham United full-back Arthur Masuaku this summer.

Spurs are understood to be in the market for a new left-back in order to provide extra competition for Danny Rose and Ben Davies, the latter of whom has fallen down the pecking order in North London this season.

Masuaku has just one year remaining on his current contract at West Ham, although the Hammers do have the option to trigger a further 12-month extension on top of that.

The 25-year-old's form towards the end of the season is thought to have impressed Tottenham's scouts, although they could face competition for his signature from the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Fiorentina.

West Ham are likely to prefer to sell Masuaku abroad if they do let him leave, rather than risking strengthening one of their fiercest rivals.

Masuaku joined West Ham from Olympiacos in 2016 and has gone on to make 75 appearances for the club across all competitions.

Not the best source, obviously, but an interesting one.

I didnt realise he was 25, thought he was younger, but Ive always found he caught the eye the few times I have been unfortunate enough to watch West Ham.

Pace and stamina, really gets up and down, and while he seems raw (hence thinking he was younger) he does seem to make things happen too.

I doubt West Ham would want to do business with us, but its one I certainly wouldnt be against.

Are we going to buy two new LB's? I don't think so. If this isn't made up, then it is surely a ploy to get Sessegnon's price down.

Only if you consider Sessegnon a LB.

Plays most often as an attacker, not defender for Fulham so there likely isnt the over lap you think...

Anyway, the flimsy source says we are considering a move - far less tangible than the reports on Sessegnon, and being he's West Ham I doubt it would ever happen anyway.

I think it would be a bad idea to announce any signings before the CL final

Sessegnon is a bit less of an issue, as he's a 'one for the future'. But even still it could potentially be disruptive to Rose and Davies that we're signing a player in their position. And ditto for any other signings and the current position incumbents.

    I dont think so.

All signings should be welcome in the interests of competition.

And Sessegnon isnt a LB anyway, he plays further forward.

I doubt Son would be bricking it before the CL final because Sessegnon was announced...

Not that I expect it to happen that quickly anyway.

he is awful - has a trick in him but no end product and no defensive ability - this is his agent I imagine.

    Ottawa, actually.
Sessegnon is a winger who can, at a stretch, play at left-back.

His versatility will be useful, though. If we manage to get him and Youcef Atal, from Nice (who is a two-footed right-back who's been used at RM, LM, RW, LW, and as a foraard this season because of his versatility), then we could see some very interesting tactical options emerge.

Imagine swapping full-backs, or wingers swapping seamlessly with strikers (Son, Lucas) who then go outside.

As for the hesitancy about Sessegnon, he's still a raw kid - I think he'll turn 19 next week. Despite that, he has 6 assists (I think) in a poor Fulham side, where he's had to bulk up and pitch in defensively and in unfamiliar positions (including RW) more than he did in the Championship.

He might be crap, he might not, but it's unfair to write anyone off at that age.

Have only seen him a few times, but wouldnt have said awful. Why do you think he is so bad?

Also, yes, wouldnt be at all surprised if its his agent.

He's not trusted at left back yet, but he doesn't have have the guile or creativity to be a winger. He's being played on the wing the same way walker and rose were at his age

Also, as a club, we've not played wingers since about 2013.

I think that’s a little unfair. Based on what I saw at Wembley, I was impressed with his movement - lots of out-to-in, bending his runs that didn’t quite come off. He wasn’t simply road-running down the line.

Sample of one game and all that though...

    None :)
Brace yourself, I'd give him benefit of the doubt and keep Trip's there tbh.

Anyone can have a dodgy season, in fact quite a few of the team did for one reason or another.

Whats the alternative? Sit with our hands in our pockets for another month while everyone else signs the players we are after?

Can’t we click Stall for three weeks and then click ok after the final?
