Alli was not supposed to go in to our youth set up - probably wasn't expected to have the instant impact that he had mind

Ozan Kabak's reported demands make West Ham United move more likely than Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are both said to be battling to sign Ozan Kabak from Stuttgart this summer.

According to the Daily Mail, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur are both competing to sign Ozan Kabak from Stuttgart this summer.

West Ham and Spurs are both keen on the 19-year-old defender, who has proven to be a big hit in Germany.

Kazak can be signed for just over £13 million, due to a release clause in his contract, and both West Ham and Spurs are considering activating it.

The youngster’s demands may just make West Ham the favourites to sign him though.

The youngster is said to want a move which allows him to play regularly, as he has no interest in leaving Stuttgart to sit on the bench.

That may be bad news for Tottenham, who are unlikely to be able to offer the same assurances of game time as the defender would get at West Ham.

Spurs already have a huge amount of defensive strength, with Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez waiting in the wings for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

At West Ham though, Kazak would have a genuine chance of walking straight into Manuel Pellegrini’s side’s starting line-up.

And it could be that his demands may a move to the London Stadium far more appealing than Spurs.

Are we not big enough nowadays that we could just sign him and loan him out to West Ham for regular game time!? ;)

According to El Des Marque, Tottenham Hotspur are now the leading contenders to sign Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen to strengthen his side’s midfield this summer, and a range of targets have already been linked.

Ceballos is also said to be on Tottenham’s radar, and Spurs are thought to be ready to step up their interest in the Madrid man now.

Pochettino’s side are reported prepared to pay between £35 and £45 million for the central midfielder, who could leave Madrid this summer.

The Spanish side need to offload players to balance the books, after a big spending transfer window already.

If Cebellos was to arrive at White Hart Lane he could be an excellent addition to Pochettino’s squad.

The 22-year-old is still young enough to develop, and he already has a lot of eye catching qualities.

Ceballos is very capable in possession, and his arrival at Spurs would help add the depth in midfield which they were desperately lacking last campaign.

I would imagine everyone is interested in everyone at Real Madrid, and await the fire sale at the end of the window.

I don't think Dele was supposed to be going anywhere other than into our first team squad.

So it's got to be either him or Lo Celso I would think, as they play similar positions. Unless Eriksen leaves and we want to have competition for the position.

Somewhat worried about the Eriksen and Alderweireld situations. Seems like there will be uncertainty and a lot of waiting still to come, I think that will impact how we go about our business this summer.

Agree, but lets be honest our deals were never likely to be wrapped up quickly under any scenario were they:D....

Unless we move differently this year. In other words, buy either Ceballos or Lo Celso, regardless of what Eriksen does, and if he leaves later in the window go in for another AM for competition. It would also align with what Poch has been alluding to regarding the need to change our approach and think like a big club. I'm hoping Levy has the finances sorted out well enough to allow us to do that.

Is he related to Cristian Ceballos, who used to play for us?

Do you know how many Ceballos there are out there?

They're all related, by the way. Trace their lineage all the way back to the first protozoa.

I'm not so sure. The appeal of signing both Ndombele and Lo Celso seems to be that it doesn't then matter what happens with Eriksen and Alder

If both stay, we just have 5 CMs and Ndombele replaces Wanyama, Lo Celso is extra (or Dembele's replacement, although Sissoko is already that)

If Eriksen leaves, we have 4 CMs and Lo Celso replaces Eriksen at AM

If Alder leaves we have 4 CMs and Dier reverts to CB

If Alder and Eriksen leave we have 5 CMs, two of whom are versatile cover at AM and CB

I hope you're right. But if both were sold yesterday and we had another £100m+ to spend you don't think that would influence who we target and who we could sign?

I like the plan as you present it, seems to match well with the rumors floating around. But having two key players, one of them a very high value player, in limbo like this does make it harder for us. I hope a solution will be found with time left in the window and preferably with plenty of time left.

They are both gone either this year or next, so we need replacements, and it doesn't matter if they are a year early.

Yeah but what might matter is the £100m were giving up.
