I agree he'd probably be in the "potential to be a top star" bracket. Higher than potentially good - he is already good. You don't play for Dortmund if you're not.
But he'd still be "one of the best in the bundesliga".
You said the bundesliga isn't a good measure because of its quality. That's different to nationality based hype. In a similar way Brazilians are often over hyped.

Great example - Cristiano Ronaldo. A good player in an average league but with clear talent. Joined probably the biggest club in the world at that point as a player capable of being in team (starting and bench) and needing a couple of years to develop into the top top level bracket.

32 starts for a very good Dortmund side. In central midfield. At 19.

Maybe not a star yet, but definitely heading in that direction. Is already a very good player.

Probably overhyped by some, most very good players are. But most of the hype around him is very much on target.

Good player. Not sure he fits for City. I've never seen him as technically good enough for them.
Could catapult him to a new level or become the next forgotten Englishman and join Saudi Sportswashing Outpost in two years.

Is he worth over £100m though? That's the price being talked about.

No he's not worth that much, if he is the Florian Wirtz and Moussa Diaby, who both had better seasons than Bellingham, are worth more, but there isn't the hype about them.

Nkunku has a €65m release clause in his new contract.

What I wonder about guys like Bellingham and Sancho is that if they didn’t do their apprenticeships in our tougher leagues they might then suffer coming back here. Just because they’re English doesn’t mean they automatically fit the league without the experience maybe.

It's a lot of money. Some of that would be because of his very young age.

He would be seen as worth that to whoever paid that. I can understand Dortmund wanting that.

I think he's going to be a real special player. May be wrong of course, but hey...

Fulham getting Palhinha could be great, could result in him not having the requisite players around him to properly shine.

£42m for a HG player is better than the £100m they spunked on Grealish I suppose.

Same mate. Looks talented but not the way everyone going mad over him.

I also think Dortmund might target talented English youngsters because they know English clubs will over pay to get them back.

I bet the are many kids with Bellingham's talent but wrong nationality so won't be signed by man u.

After brxit it will be a lot harder for dortmund to sign young english players. As they'll need to get a work permit.

Phillips to City is an interesting one. Not sure that he's a natural replacement for someone like Rodri as a CM not good enough on the ball in the other midfield positions

Winks might have been a better player to add depth in the CM role. Rodri doesnt move much and just moves the ball on

Winks who can't get off our bench he wouldn't get near the City squad. He would be a monumental waste of money to them. Phillips is decent on the ball, but he's probably been bought for depth and the English quota.

He’s the replacement for fernandihno. Strong, athletic defensive mf who can also fill in at centre half when needed. Think people also underestimate his ability on the ball.

English quote certainly. The think about Rodri and Fernandinho is that they're calm, composed players who use the ball simply. I don't see Phillips as the same type of player

    He is exactly that
I think he is better than Rhodri myself
We will see this season if he can stay fit
