Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

Joe's new yacht, there used to be a poster on here that had a theory that all the money the club made was being siphoned off so Joe could buy a yacht.

Probably the same one who said that Levy would never build the stadium, as soon as he got the plans approved he would sell the club and sail off ( on Joe's boat) into the sunset.

Looks like all the roof panels are in now.

So much leg room!

I actually don't mind a more compact (cramped) layout, could have got a couple of extra rows of seats in and still had more leg room than old WHL. Wembley is too spread out for me. But NWHL is stepper and should feel much more compact. The 17k stand will also give it a more intimidating atmosphere.

We're all virgins, and will have that feeling of going to your first game once again. Can hadly remember my first game truth be told :) We played Forest and won 1-0

Edit: are the top rows of seats much more compact? Or yet to be fully installed?

Man, when the floodlights silently go live, when the electronic hoardings start up, when the ambient lights switch on, and the whole place starts thrumming with the hum of barely-restrained power...

.....I guess I'm just waiting to watch it go live. It will feel so different to WHL - utterly, noiselessly futuristic, sleek and deadly.

The warmth of the old WHL won't be there for the first few years. But what will be present is a sense of hyper-modernity that, at least to someone watching on the telly...will still be damn good. :)

*Or* we switch it on and all the electrics short out and set the place on fire, burning it to the ground. 50:50, really - after all, we *are* Spurs. :p

Looks like they just haven't been installed. Leg room, indeed! I always had sore knees after going to WHL. I've been adament that I've wanted us to keep the blue seats from the old WHL, but these pictures have finally convinced me - it's looking beautiful!

Me too there was nothing better than scoring a goal and celebrating madly and then feeling your knee later on in the game thinking what the fudge have I done here? I think it will be the same as Wembley (I hope not) and it’ll be too much room which is proper brick and does actually ruin the atmosphere but I guess as we are a nation of tanks now and only growing larger then it’s the only way for us fat clams to fit in to places now.

03 September 2018|Tottenham Hotspur

On 13 August, 2018 we reported that issues with the critical safety systems had resulted in the need to delay the opening of our new stadium.

Chairman Daniel Levy said: "We are all focused on ensuring contractors deliver our new stadium in the shortest possible period of time and opening our stadium at the earliest opportunity. The consequences of not being able to open our new stadium on 15 September against Liverpool have been immense. Building a venue of this scale that is open to the general public is a huge undertaking. We are creating, in Tottenham, a unique world class stadium with pioneering technology and engineering.

"Amongst the consequences of the delay have been substantial additional costs, not least of which the need for alternative venue hire, along with the inconvenience for our fans and those of our opposition.

"I want to apologise once again and thank you all for your support, many of you have taken the time to write to us and commend what we are doing for the Club. When you face times like this in an organisation it's teamwork and pulling together that gets you through.

"Our dedicated staff are having to manage operations again at more than one stadium and I want to thank them for their resilience. Mauricio, his staff and the players, have been exceptional in their support and fully embraced the changes of venue with total positivity. They have my utmost respect.

"We are now being regularly updated on progress and as soon as we have confidence in our project managers’ and contractors' ability to deliver against the revised schedule of works, we shall be able to issue dates for test events and the official opening game.

"We are facing many issues, but although disappointing, costly and frustrating, I am uncompromising in my determination to deliver something extraordinary to our fans."

Such a shame we wont be playing Barca at the new stadium, really would have felt special. We MUST qualify for the CL again next season. Perhaps we can have the knockout games at the NWL if we get that far.
