Will be interesting to see how they approach the game on Thursday
Really they just don't need to lose it, not so sure they have the players to sit back, and if they attack and leave gaps we could destroy them on the break

Their front 3 are decent, not really sure about the rest of their team, especially defensively and they have 2 clowns in CM

i think the way Villa played in the first half is the perfect tactic for them.

Villa only played that way because we took an early lead and we’re off the back off 3 home defeats

ok, Brighton then....Saints at home....its the best blueprint to stop us, and actually suits Arsenal as where its designed to stop us then releases their front 4. Plus its not as risky for them as a high press. (in case we play thru it)

I’d say that the teams you mentioned are better structured and coached than arsenal and we’re also in good form at the time
Arsenal can press us of but they don’t need to if they can shut up shop

i agree. Whether Arteta has the nouse to implement a plan?? there is evidence to help him though. The mid block, allowing the first pass...would suit them imo.

I like him as a a manager myself and think he has something about him
But I also think he is the kind of coach that has too much belief in his way or no way style (like a lot of modern ones)

Conte takes time out to agree with me once again and also lambast both the PL and the naive bafoons within the club who wilfully accepted the scheduling without any inclination to protest.

And let’s not forget this goon fixture was rescheduled as they were decimated by their ONE Covid case. One.

All teams, including the top ones, have had a scheduling moan this season. Griping about it might gain you some traction in future scheduling (but I doubt it) but to think that moaning about it when informed of the dates will get it changed is a pipe dream.

And then loaning our players. As usual, we get screwed, but this year not by lasagna.

I think one should respect that midfield. They have a good team. Defensively Tomiyasu has been solid. Their GK has been far better than expected.

    Why ?
Odegaard is decent, the other 2 are mediocre at best

This sounds like the “boo hoo mentality” imo - The Brentford / Brighton games happened because the opposing teams implemented a game plan and succeeded.

L’arse may have been fortunate by the rules at the time but if the game had been played and we’d lost it, the readymade excuse would have inevitably been we needed more time to get used to Conte’s system.

I’ve intentionally disassociated from the top four implications, it goes without saying I hope we absolutely fudging smash them on Thursday but all this talk of them being incredibly fortunate with the run in or results, or us being hard done by comes off as planned self protective delusion to make it more palpable if what seems likely to happen does indeed happen. If they get it, they’ll deserve it (unless there’s some next level South Korea / Italy corruption from the refs in the coming NDL)

So if they finish above us it’s more embarrassing to our setup in that case then?

    Not really
United arguably have a better squad than us and are finishing behind us
Number of factors over a season that come into play
Lestah won the league with some player who were inferior to ours

Reading through the recent comments in this thread I think a lot of people are underestimating L`arse. I think its going to be a really tense nerve shredding game. Its a must win for us not so for them. Ha ha I can`t wait for thursday night.
    COYS!!
