I've got a horrible feeling that Sherwood won't take this job

I forgot about Villa. All the time Villa can't score then QPR are better than them too. Disagree about Palace - they have a solid, if unspectacular, core there which should be enough to keep them up.

I hope he doesn't. It really won't take much for even him to keep them up and then we'll never hear the end of it.

BTW - does this remind anyone of FM in the old days when they used to retire a player and immediately recreate them as a youth player with a different name? Redknapp retires > FM creates Sherwood
I'll never forget scouring that database for the recreated Gazza......

Leicester and Burnley yes, but I think West Brom, Villa, Sunderland, Palace have better and id say hungrier players

QPRs squad is full of overpaid, past it, lazy, couldnt give a sh!t players.

hahaha, it isn't great i grant you, but there is top level experience there and i think it is good enough to professionally coach into getting enough points to stay up. i think another great problem at QPR has been a culture of overpaid/under-motivated...EDIT: just saw your post above this saying that, thus i agree!

If Sherwood has turned down jobs at clubs in far less turmoil could he also turn down the QPR one? After all, despite having some of those he worked with at Spurs already there ready to go, he may still see it beneath him to pick up Harry's mess...

Wouldn't be surprised if Tim says thanks Tiny but nah thanks

    This.
And I think even the weird side I suggested would be enough to fashion some points. At least they have players at full-back who are full-backs (Onuha by default as he is a utility defender and Harry apparently got rid of any recognizable right backs because he was going 3-5-2!!!!!)

Depends how he evaluates the chances of staying up.

If he thinks he can give them a small lift, that is probably all they need to stay up. He can add himself to the list of managers who can rescue a club from relegation. Even if he fails he has excuses. He could decide that he can improve his resume without too much risk.

Then there is the question of where the clubs are going. Taking over a safe mid-table club only offers so much opportunity. It is easier to mess up and end up in the relegation zone than move into European contention. At QPR he has an owner with money and ambition for the club (e.g. the new stadium). He could see the chance to make a statement as a manager. It doesn't matter if you or I think he can do it, only whether he thinks he has the something special needed. I suspect he might.

Got rid of all the right backs? Is Chimbonda not managed by Willie Mackay any more?

Even Chimbo has his limits when it comes to trumping people...

That would be great. Sealing their relegation with no chance of coming back up. Perfect replacement for Redknapp as he spends most of his time in his office and hardly does any coaching.

To put it bluntly; he's deluded, moronic and an egomaniac. Dangerous combination.

He knows he isn't up to the job. He finished as statistically our best manager but that was with our most expensively assembled squad in history, and we were hardly bottom when he took over. He will never take a job now, this was his last chance to get into managing. What chairman would bother interviewing to have the details of that interview splashed across the press a few days later.

    A useless charlatan

I don't particularly like or dislike Sherwood, but you get the impression that he relegated us and took a giant brick in Levy's dinner the way some carry on.

I can see your point, and there have certainly been bleaker times in terms of league position and performance. However, when he took over last season and the manner in which he conducted himself left me completely disenfranchised with Spurs and with football. I can't forgive him for that
