Encourages some interest is all.

To that end a lander/rover is scheduled to land on Mars on the 18th February. Check out the mission and the key stage is the descent via the nasa link.

The entry descent and landing stuff is really cool - the sharp end of which is pre-programmed as there is no reaction time for base given the vast distances .

The longer wavelengths enable Webb to look much closer to the beginning of time and to hunt for the unobserved formation of the first galaxies, as well as to look inside dust clouds where stars and planetary systems are forming today.

Bloody odd setup they are going for, basically it's taken them or will take them 10+ years and billions of dollars to re invent old tec. Just give the bloody money to space X
