Re: Mido retires

I liked him. Thought he was fantastic when he was on loan with us.

After that though..

Re: Martin Fulop Has Cancer

Not this brick again. No one knew he would be playing until half an hour before kick out? There was no time to 'buy' him.
The guy hadn't played a top level game for years is mentally on the beach and then has to play against Arsenal last game of the season with half an hour's notice.
And he was brick to start with.

Indeed, always looking for excuses its sad really.

Re: Martin Fulop Has Cancer

still possible they bought out both goalies, and it wasn't arsenal who funded it. Arsenal has a huge following in Asia so there would be a ready audience. if true it wouldn't be just Arsenal or just Fulop. but yes still pure speculation - for now.

‘It’s all done with algorithms and machines, almost like any commodity house in the US or London. The three largest (gambling) houses each transact $2billion (around £1.28bn) a week.’

On the eve of Euro 2012, Lazio captain Stefano Mauri was arrested and defender Domenico Criscito was axed from Italy's squad over "Calcioscommesse" (football betting), which has been tied to Perumal's alleged boss in Singapore.

Give up mate, some people live in a naive bubble, when there is big money involved anything is possible.

Legends

So. Having to go to the official site today to wait for the Grand unveiling of the new kits I thought i would read that bit about the so called legends team. Now the team is pretty crap and i think there is maybe 1 or 2 players in there that might just about be legends. But the rest? they are throw away's and never made it's so to call them legends is an insult to the term.

Its like with the London Masters 5 a side thing. Full of the crap players. Why cant we get a legends team out with some true legends in it. When the Masters first started up we had players like Hoddle and Waddle in them. But since then its been a real decline.

Surely we could put out a team with say Ginola, Armstrong, Sheringham etc. some actual talented players.

BTW is the London Master thing on this year?

Re: Mido retires

Was superb that first season when he was partnering Keane.

On that kind of form he would still be an asset for us now.

Interestingly the man who originally discovered him was a certain Franco Baldini.

Totally, he was great and a real threat, like Ade, once move was secure he lost all interest

Lee Young-Pyo retired last night - got a standing ovation from the Vancouver Whitecaps fans

Video worth a watch

Good thing that Vancouver were winning 3-0 at the time. Imagine if they took that much time over the change if the score was 1-0 to Vancouver and the opponents were desperate for the equaliser! :D

Still a great send off to a terrific pro. I always had time for him whilst he was with us. I thought that he received a lot of unfair criticism when, yes he might not have been the best, but he was certainly not as bad as some tried to suggest he was.

Great to see the flag with all his old clubs, including ourselves. That someone had taken so long to create a flag shows the impact that Lee Young-Pyo had, he was a likeable professional. Good luck to him in retirement.

I liked Lee Young-Pyo. He was a lot better than many gave him credit for. I think a lot of his critics couldn't see beyond a right footed left back.

I think that might have been part of it. I remember one game against Manchester United when he was excellent against Ronaldo.

a lot of nothing happens around him - which is what a defender does
but that just doesn't appeal to today's entertainment driven crowd

Re: Martin Fulop Has Cancer

i just cannot believe that a professional keeper could play as badly as that. Any one of us, would have performed with more competence.

you think?

at the weekend.....smells fishy imo
