I saw it on a small screen next to the Spurs game and it didn't look like a red card tackle. He may have done it on purpose, but at first watch in real time it almost seemed accidental.

There was an incident in our game around the same time that looked worse.
 
If only Southampton had beaten City, that would have been Liverpool (provided Aston Villa won the cup as well).
