It may explain why some of today's posters appear to have limited powers of expression: lack of a decent initiation ceremony.
In my day you had to saw off your thumbs just to get anywhere near the site.
 
Welcome Big John Jr, I remember your dad too, one of the very first names I remember from this site, condolenced on your loss but I'm sure he left you with many happy memories, I'm sure it's also comforting that with people on here remembering your dad he achieved his own little bit of immortality.

How long have you been lurking on GG? Long enough to learn about badgers, OMT rules and other weird brick
What are your hopes for the coming season? No idea really. I just can't wait to get back to the Lane tomorrow. My first hope is that tomorrow is not one of those awful dour 0-0 draws or 1-0 losses where teams park the bus and score on the counter, and that we go out, score an early goal and have a nice comfortable win. Also can't wait to see the ovation for Ledley at half time. Should be emotional.

What are your hopes for the coming season? High hopes. Assuming two more signings in the next week, I almost expect top 4 with slight wonderings about pushing hard for top 2.
