Great stuff as usual and a nice change of pace considering the lack of proper football!

Appreciate the time looking in to the three players mentioned. The mention of Caulker hurts for me, I saw him as the heir apparent for King when he was first coming through, however it’s not the first time I’ve got a bit carried away with hype on a youth prospect. Still made a solid career of it despite his problems as you all discussed; the Liverpool move is however still a tad perplexing for all involved.

Thanks mate.
I think the Liverpool move was simply Klopp thinking he could mine the talent we all saw...and soon realising his issues were deep set.

Good listen guys.

Ziegler looked the real deal when he broke through - I remember him scoring in the 'Dean Marney game' against Everton on New Years Day 2005. When he played in front of Erik Edman it was possibly the most blonde left side in football.

I think many young players, particularly defenders and midfielders, can get by on adrenalin and opponents, not knowing enough about them, to look good for about 30 appearances before a natural plateau and drop off. Although not an academy product I liken Ziegler career to someone like Darren Caskey or even Caulker. Forwards probably get about a dozen appearances and score goals before they're written off (wrongly).
