u too mate, i wouldn't say celebrate but i'll take the 4 day weekend and we're very thankful for rain for the first time in 6 months on the left (sic) coast

Canadians have little to be thankful for when late November brings in the start of a long, cold winter. (Well, other than the start of downhill ski season, cross country ski season, snowmobile season, ice fishing season, ice hockey season, road hockey season, floor hockey season, table hockey season, curling season, and late harvesting of frosted grapes for ice wine.)
So, while the plumbing still runs and the toilets still flush, we celebrate it six weeks earlier in October.
