Fabio Paratici - Consultant

After his playing career ended, he worked as a football talent scout. He started at Tottenham Hotspur in the mid-2000s as a part-time European scout, and played a part in the signings of Luka Modrić and Benoit Assou-Ekotto. He moved to Liverpool in 2010 to join Damien Comolliwho was once his superior as the director of football at Tottenham. He helped signed Luis Suárez to Liverpool in 2011.[1] He then became head of European scouting for Queens Park Rangers, and in 2016 joint director of recruitment at Derby County. He was appointed the chief scout for Tottenham Hotspur in February 2017 as a replacement for Paul Mitchell.[2]

Hitchen is now semi retired as player recruitment is not required at Tottenham Hotspur. He spends his time at home with his family, tending to his allotment, and enjoys holidays in his caravan in the West Country, as well as ‘socialising with friends’

Think we need one, which is a big turn around from where I was 10 years ago.

What do people think of Jenas? Always comes across very articulate and smart, knows football and cares about us.

Yeah, Jenas seems like a nice bloke and an intelligent pundit but he's got fudge all experience on the business side of football. It's like how we all laughed with UTD planning to do the same with Rio Ferdinand. You could have them working as an understudy to an experienced person in that role, but not leading it.

Levy is the DoF, he was a little distracted from the role during Stadium build out, but is back.

Best DoF isn't going to help if Poch doesn't see what he needs, he was offered players last year and he didn't prioritize a RB this year.

We got all 4 of our top transfer targets over the summer, and nearly the 5th icing on the cake one

I think our historic issues have been i) offloading players who don't want to drop wages, ii) needing a zero net spend to pay for NWHL. None of that is to do with a DoF.

If we can’t wrangle Luis Campos from Lille any time soon, perhaps this Eduardo Macià (who parted ways with Leicester a few months ago) is worth a look.

He certainly seems to have done a better job of freshening up their squad (especially after they lost likes of Kante and Mahrez) than what we’ve done in recent years.
Just stating that three of them successful ones we wanted too but didn’t buy for varying reasons, plus Johnny evans who i personally said we should go for to replace Toby when he was available - now playing in the best defence in the division despite being older but wasn’t good enough for us apparently

The failures is a long list although not all too expensive

Im still pretty convinced (hopeful?!) that Campos is the man.

I suspect itll be the case that we sort something out in time for summer, probably to soon for him to be useful this window and he likely has commitments to Lille. After this window, get him in, get ready for Summer...

I like the idea but remain unconvinced about all thing Spurs transfer wise.
GLC looks OK.

Sessegnon has the potential to be a very good player for us long term. He hasn't shown it yet mind.

Ndombele has the ability to be arguably the best midfield player in the league for me. Whether he has the will/attitude/mentality to do it is another question.

We need these players now! All the potential counts for feck all when you team is struggling long term!
Sessegnon is a lovely lad I would expect and has got a long career ahead of him! Ndombele look like a wonderful prospect. But sitting in the treatment room ‘chocolate fire guard’ comes to mind!
We must minimise our players being out of the game who suffer from ‘Lamelitus‘ or an inherent fitness problem to play regularly in our tough league.

Some nice wheeler-dealer dealing by (our former analyst under Redknapp) Michael Edwards up at Liverpool... can but hope for such good business by whomever Levy and Mourinho decide upon...

They've spent good money, but have also been outrageously fortunate that they've all worked out.
They've been brave and proactive so deserve some luck, should we appoint a DOF I hope they aren't judged against what Liverpool have done, that's a freak IMHO.
