Surely the club brief them on acceptable behaviour?!

Lanzini played today, against Everton whose game the other day was called off because of COVID... the plot thickens
I mean this is as stupid as it gets from these guys isn’t it...
Their mate posted it publicly on t’net and then realised after it started getting circulated

Another reason we’ve got 50,000+ infections daily and are going to be stuck in this situation for months. tacos.

Can’t complain if the PL throw the book at us if we can fulfil a fixture.

    Can't blame the players really.

The club, the league and the govt have all said punishment for breaking the rules is a fine. Punishable by fine is the same as saying "legal for a price."

When the very worst that can happen is losing a small amount of their excess cash, why wouldn't they?

    Three reasons:
    1) there's a certain amount of social responsibility which everyone should be showing, regardless of what you do for a living
    2) footballers are role models to kids. This is similar to players being pictured drunk on a night out
    3) they know the implications on the club if they catch covid

I hope Spurs fine them the max possible

That's clearly not the case. The guidance is quite clear and I am sure that the club has strict rules on gatherings too. It shouldn't take the risk of criminal sanctions to make people follow them and behave responsibly.

    1. Laws will be obeyed in line with the general public's perception. Just like everyone drives over the speed limit, everyone will continue to see friends and family
    2. They're footballers, it's their job to play football. Footballers aren't responsible for the bad life choices of kids they don't know
    3. I suspect they do but have calculated the risk to be low

The guidance is that if you break the rules, you have to pay some money.

So they break the rules, pay the fee and carry on.

    1. I am not seeing F&F at the moment and people I knw aren't!!!
    2. disagree. They know that they're roles models. There's a certain price that comes with that. Agree that they're not 'responsible' for others actions, but they know that they're an influence over them
    3. Then they're cretins. If we have to postpone a couple games because of covid then it'll bugger up our season given the congestion which we have already

    1. You may not be but plenty are. I suspect it becomes more common as fines become more affordable
    2. I just don't buy the role model stuff. If a player makes something out of that, publicises themselves as a role model and makes money out of it (like Beckham) then they have that responsibility. Most players don't court it, so we shouldn't force that on them
    3. And if we don't, then they've had the best of both worlds.

We should use this as a chance to tell Lamela he has no future with us and sell him.
