Son Heung-Min

It was all just a fitness thing wasn't it at the start of the season. I defended him to the hilt on here as had just returned from 2 tournaments and had further international breaks.

No surprise to see him now build up some rhythm and sparkling form.

Also worth remembering that with the style he adopts - direct, attempting things etc, he is going to have the odd off day - its part and parcel. Lets just be thankful that he plays for us and that we get many more 'on' days than 'off'.

With the above said, the big smile and the fact he's my son's favourite player, I just cant help but love the guy.

I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s a fitness thing, just Son being Son. He’s always been streaky, he has hot months then he goes a while without doing much. Who knows perhaps he will become more consistent in the next year or two and then we would have yet another genuine world class player on our hands....

I think this is bang on, i have said before there are times he moves before thinking what he is going to do with the ball ( ie his feet sometimes moves faster then his brain) and it does not work out.

The good thing about that is if he does not know what he is always doing then the opposing players have no idea what he will do next.

It was actually the first challenge (from Moura I think) where Francis' knee got a whack, then he made about 3 paces and put his weight fully on his knee when Son dragged it back, and his knee just popped, but I reckon it was the first challenge which ruptured the ligament.

Too incidental to whack your knee like that, then 3 steps later your knee collapses for no reason.

I’m not denying he can be patchy - I even said in my post that with his style he will have off days.

But....are u suggesting 2 tournaments and 2 international breaks had no physical effect on him?
