Season 2013/2014 predictions

Others have strengthened including us. They don't have any good strikers on their books, they have a soft underbelly and have a dodgy defence.

What have Arsenal done to be knocked down to 5th?

The form they hit last year was league contending worthy. They haven't weakened, they haven't exactly strengthened but that could be key to them. Stable manager, stable team.

If Arsenal get Suarez and Gustavo i think they will finish 1st or 2nd.

My prediction:

By the end of the year our first 11 will look like this:

Townsend - Soldado --- Bale
--------Paulinho -- Holtby
---------------- Sandro
Rose - Verts - Kaboom - Walker
---------------- Lloris

With Dembele and Pauls taking their turns in that position

They won't even get gustavo. They'd have to break their puney transfer record for that. They call themselves a big club yet we've smashed their transfer record twice this summer.

Arsenal probably will strengthen even though they haven't already. At the moment I can see us with Bale (or if we can get adequate replacements) being able to challenge for the title along with the top 3. And if Arsenal get Suarez then they probably can too.

I think it will be so tight and not easily at all to pick the teams apart. Another thing is Man United could easily be third or fourth, but if they got Modric they could easily be champions too. Gonna be a great season.

This is all based on what has gone on up to now for me but it could change depending on what further business is done between now and the end of the window.

They hit form towards the end because they have nothing else to play for except 4th place trophy.

They do still create more chance than us though and fancy them to finish above us again until proven otherwise, despite us having a slightly better squad IMO.

Whats to stop them having that same motivation for the upcoming season though?

They now have such a thin squad. No gervinho, arshavin or chamakh to call on in case injuries mount

I don't think they used Chamakh or Arshavin all that much last season. Gervinho is so inconsistent, he impressed for Ivory Coast in the World Cup before he joined Arsenal but did little for them.

Because they are not good enough to mount a challenge for the title or win a trophy except the capital one cup at a push. They have a big advantage when it comes to the league from March onwards as they are out of all the cups, whilst us and some of the other teams are still in some/all of the other cups.
