Riyad Mahrez

Bonsaiboy

Steven Caulker
Wind Up Merchant
Like the look of him, quick, can use both feet, could do a better job on the right than either Townsend or Lamela, might be worth a 7 Million bid plus Townsend on loan for the rest of the season.

Predominantly plays on the right, though. I'd rather wait and then give Pritchard a chance on that flank given the explosive nature of recent performances by our academy lads. If we need a wide player, it's on the left to provide back-up and competition for Chadli.

We need some pace in attacking areas. Never heard of this Mahrez guy it makes a defences' job a lot easier when they know that the ball over the top or through wont be used

Him and Bentaleb are good mates as they both play for Algeria. And yes he looks very good in the last few games.

Certainly looked good against us and been a bit of a highlights player at least all season. Just 23. Certainly one to keep an eye on.

With them in a relegation fight I'm not sure a January move is likely at all. Might be able to pick him up cheaply in the summer if they do go down though.

This. I'm looking forward to Pritchard being given a crack in our first team.

We should have just signed Brahimi in the summer.

Porto brought him then sold 80% of his economic rights to a third party - so safe to say they are trying to plump him up for a future mega money move.

Seems to be the way with Porto - so we can forget ever signing their players

Two Premier League heavyweights willing to invest € 40M on Mahrez

Nobody could have predicted the incredible journey of Leicester, at the beginning of the season. The Foxes, Premier League leaders, are the beautiful surprise of the year in the UK.With Riyad Mahrez and his friend Jamie Vardy of the attack, Claudio Ranieri's men hold the major heads of England. Their latest victim? Chelsea, who fell under the battering of the blue foxes (2-1) match which has also sealed the fate of Jose Mourinho, sacked shortly afterwards.

Two offers of € 41M for Riyad Mahrez

Benefits of Riyad Mahrez in the colors of Leicester, have naturally attracted the attention of the biggest clubs in the Premier League. According to information from Téléfoot, Manchester United and Tottenham have offered no less than € 41M for the Algerian international, author of 14 goals in 18 games this season. If they decided to sell it, the Foxes would make a big pluvalue for the player acquired in Havre. The Algerian was acquired for approximately € 500,000 Le Havre, in the winter of 2014, 82 times less than the price at which it could leave the King Power Stadium.

"I do not think I will go"

During an interview on TF1, Riyad Mahrez also discussed his future. The player has notably explained that he had no intention of leaving Leicester at the moment, despite his current lust aroused. "I do not think I will go," he said. "I feel very good here. There are noises, it's always nice that clubs are interested in you. I feel good in Leicester, it would be stupid to leave in January when we are top of the table ... ".

Fantastic player, would provide assists and creativity galore....but isn't who we need, and isn't the type of player we'd buy, even in the summer.

Isn't the guy who scouted him for Leicester now a THFC employee? I'd imagine the idea is we find the next Mahrez rather than blow a wad on the original

Always helpful having someone who knows the details of a players current contract . As to whether we need him...of course. He would add something without a doubt.

No expert on him or Leicester, would you say he's like a more incisive Lamela?

Yeah - Rob Mackenzie is our Head of Player Identification/Technical Scouting

The guy responsible is Steve Walsh.

Spent 16 years as a Chelsea scout and helped identify players like Drogba, Essien, Zola, Flo. Reports from last week suggests Arsenal want him to head up their scouting department.

lol identified them players .... they were either household names already or most elite teams were already chasing players from that list.

Why doesn't identifying which players out of a list of players elite teams are all aware of one should sign count as "identifying"?

Ah, ok.

This is the highly-regarded analysis/chief scout Baldini brought in from Leicester 9 or so months ago:
