Richarlison

Fabrizio Romano now quoting 75 mill as the opening offer Everton are looking for.

£60m - £65m is what they want. We should be looking to pay £50m - £55m and walk away if they wont move to that figure. We can always revisit in 12 months time when he will only have a year left.

If there are a lack of alternatives for a striker/wide forward hybrid then bring a wide forward in and also a giroud/llorente type. Will tie us over for 12 months and then get richarlison for about £30m.

Smokescreen? What is the point in one of those?

Keep a deal hush-hush? Stop an unnecessary bidding war between clubs where agents/clubs can unneccerasily inflate fees etc?
It's quite possible we nearly got Diaz because we kept our approach discrete even though in the end Diaz's agent used our interest to get Liverpool to buy him earlier than Liverpool had planned (though ironically at a reduced price than what Porto had originally quoted them)

In reality deals just don't work like that. There is not really any such thing as hush-hush. Every player has an agent. Every agent is out to get his client the best deal he can. Every agent will inform the most desirable (read biggest paying) clubs that their client could be purchased.

Us registering interest in Richarlison (or anyone else) will do nothing to keep interest we have in another player any more quiet than it would be anyway.

I hear that...but...our interest in Richarlison could make another target think twice about maybe being picky with us.
Paratici is rumoured to be the type who will line up mutiple choices of a type of player and if our first choice looks a no-go, we then go down the list to secure the relevant players.
I feel there are other players we are looking at who maybe have less gobby agents and who we'd prefer to sign rather than Richarlison.

On top of that, does it not help Everton to get Richarlison's name out here as being available whilst also using said rumour to set a 'minimal price'?

All players will have agents that will try to get the best possible deal for their clients. The agents of all top class players will be speak to all of the top clubs. Smokescreens only exist in the make-believe world of "ITKs" as it helps propogate their myth that them revealing the name of a player we are interested in might scupper the deal as it will alert other clubs (when the player agent will absolutely already have done that).

Ok, fair enough.

I still don't get why we are going for Richarlison though...it doesn't make sense to me given our squad, his attributes etc

Just had a read through the Everton forum and they are convinced he’s off this summer and are quite understanding, it’s a small thing but knowing the fan base won’t go mental over selling him helps.

Surprised nobody has reacted to the paratici thread. That his new number 2 used to be evertons head of recruitment.

Been thinking about this. It could be a juve type deal. Richarlison for €70m. They buy winks €35m, moura €30m or Bergwijn €35m. Clears up their ffp problem. We get rid of 2 players not wanted.

Everyone over priced, but doesn't matter as little or no cash is really exchanged.

And they lower their wage bill. Hard to know their financial state but with all the sanctions against their de facto owner they may be feeling the pinch without fixed sponsorship.

Have to hand it to Asminov. He was somewhat ahead of the game having his accountant own and run some of his concerns. And with his history you wouldn’t want to fuk him over while his assets are in your name. His money is unlocked in another’s name and his reputation ensures they won’t do a runner.

Richarlison isn't on that high wages though. £90k a week. Winks is on £50k. Lucas £80k.
